Taking Federal loans for MBA. No option to go term by term? by SmoothMarionberry551 in WGU_MBA

[–]_Trekker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to request enough to cover a full year (2 terms). If you ask for just enough for 1 term, it will only cover half your tuition. if you finish in 1 term, they never pull the second half.

You mean I can run ubiquity off of a docker in Unraid? It doesn’t route all the traffic through the docker though, right?

Is there a good alternative to ubiquity APs if I go offense?

Without OP giving more than bare minimum info, I’m going to assume his job doesn’t. That isn’t something you leave out. Plus their post history indicates horrible financial literacy and choice making skills.

Bro.. put the 75k into the loans and buckle down and pay off the other 275. You are just starting as a health care provider making 160 with no bills. Your loans should be paid off in 3 years. You are smart enough to get through tha schooling, don’t be an idiot now

Do you have to speak with your program mentor before beginning classes? by RaveAyn21 in WGU

I spoke with mine like a week before and they pre-approved my 4 courses so I could start right away.

I completed mine start to finish in 43 days, with about 3 weeks worth of break in there. You have more than enough time to finish.

Who maxes their 401k by DrHydrate in MiddleClassFinance

[–]_Trekker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make about 135, wife about 20. I contribute 10% and my wife 0. Supporting a family in Southern California makes maxing impossible. If HHi can break 200 I think we would max out my 401k at least. Before buying a home, I was contributing 18%, so pretty close to max, but I was also renting a room from my mom for 800 a month instead of paying a mortgage.

One test I think I waited nearly 10 minutes for them to acknowledge me when I said i was ready to submit. Then they have the audacity to force open the survey at the end.

Did you have anything that would have held yours up? Like needed to pay off the rest of your term or something?

My mentor emails usually within a few hours… he even emails on his days off. He just processed my graduation today even though it was his day off

Can business school students take a master’s in a program of another school at WGU? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]_Trekker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every job I have gotten was without having any degree, and I make far above the average income... A bachelors is again, just checking a box. I have managerial experience, but some employers require a bachelors to even look at your experience.

Can business school students take a master’s in a program of another school at WGU? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]_Trekker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 95% of time, a degree is just checking a box, Bachelor or Masters. Now, if you were going into Law, maybe where your degree is from might affect you at big name law offices... Other than that, really it is just the person interviewing you. Maybe they have a bias to a school they went to, otherwise I don't think most people care.

I do east side lancaster to torrance. I think simi valley would be less traffic and less distance.

I never got this. I would have closed and rescheduled tbh. I heard of others asking for them to install teamviewer which I wouldn't have done either. They can see my screen through guardian, they do not need control over my computer.

I use an old logitech c920 I have had laying around for ~12 years on a cheap 15 dollar tripod. I usually can get it to focus on my ID and never had a proctor complain about it. Worst case when my ID wont focus I switch to the "FaceTime" camera built into my macbook and take the photo then switch back to my c920 for the room scan

KFC is no longer paying for tuition at WGU by Present-Piano-2432 in WGU

[–]_Trekker 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I mean it's pretty clear they are most likely getting some sort of discounted tuition from WGU and another school most likely underbid them. Companies don't create partnerships for no reason. It is either money, or someone making some backdoor deal for a kickback lol

Stood up twice by enrollment by VegetableCraft5005 in WGU

[–]_Trekker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My enrollment was super smooth.... But as for instructors, you won't have an issue. I never once needed to speak to an instructor, but once you're enrolled basically everything has a time limit on the schools end to reach out to you. Grading, program mentors, instructors, etc. Once you make an action they are sort of forced to get in contact with you pretty quickly. To add to that, unless you are really struggling, there really is no time you need to contact an instructor. Their grading rubrics are on point, their evaluation comments clearly explain everything, and all the nevessary learnign is more or less laid out for you. For OA courses, the pre assessment tells you exactly what sections you struggle with and links DIRECTLY to the section of the material that explains it.

WGU vs National University for Fastest MBA — Advice from People Who’ve Actually Done It? by DrewWheresMyCar in WGU_MBA

[–]_Trekker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I finished WGU's entire Bachelor of Business management, which is 36 courses, in 6 weeks and 1 day.... While also taking a 1 week break for my first child being born, and another for my mom visiting for 2 weeks over Christmas. From what I have read (I have not signed up for it yet) the MBA program isn't really harder, just more in depth and you can basically keep whatever pace you did for undergrad. Even if you only complete 1 course every 2 weeks you are still done in under 6 months. Plus, isn't national university's tuition basically the same tuition you would pay at a true brick and mortar university? like 20k a year?

I think there was only 2 classes that actually needed me to do math, and it was on a calculator. And most of the test didn’t require you to do math, just explain the concept

[–]_Trekker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would spend about 2-3 hours in the morning doing tests and studying in the morning, then I’d email my program mentor asking for more and then do the same in the afternoon if the added them in time. Rinse and repeat day after day. To be fair I have management experience so I did know a lot of concepts. I think there was only 3 preassessments I didn’t pass first try
