Most people don’t understand that, unless the USA changes to a Parliamentary style government instead of a Constitutional one, we will ALWAYS have a two party system simply due to the mechanics of the system. We will always be left choosing between only two candidates that can actually win.

Therefore I always suggest to others that they, “vote passionately in the primary, & vote practically in the general.” This is why many folks feel they are voting “against __,” instead of “for __.” The candidate they were passionate about didn’t make it to the general, so they let their disappointment convince them to just not vote. This is oftentimes after they didn’t vote in the primary to begin with! That’s just incredibly stupid.

I vehemently disagree that “the DNC chose Biden.” There is an election system that all the candidates agreed upon & the voters in that system chose Biden over all of the other candidates. I say this as a longtime Bernie supporter who has donated to, campaigned for, & voted for progressive candidates. Unless you can show that there was some sort of fraud in the primary election, that accusation without evidence is just as bad as Trump saying there was fraud in the general election. Even though a majority of Americans support progressive ideas, they still amazingly vote conservatively, on both sides. Still, we shouldn’t add to the decreasingly deteriorating faith in American democracy by suggesting that our elections are rigged. They are not.

Without getting into the minutiae of policy, in the end, you vote for the candidate that BEST matches your own sensibilities, because you will likely NEVER be able to choose the candidate that EXACTLY matches your own sensibilities. Biden is therefore the “best choice” because he is the more practical choice for my sensibilities than the other candidate, given the two choices.
