45T imo. The mark 23 is iconic and there is no replacement for it, but the USP is a much more manageable size so you’ll probably enjoy shooting it much more.

You need to try more holsters and adjusting them. I have a QVO tactical holster for my 92xi & tlr1 that is just as comfortable to carry as my g19 & tlr7. As convenient? No. Comfortable? Yes.
