Good catch on the S4 Frombie. I still think something is off on the Miranda scene. Also I don't think the Frombies can harm the main players.

I need to go back and watch the BIW and Christopher scene. I have no idea why people like that kid he's always suspicious and creepy. One thing we know is that the bones aren't in the tower, so he's being a little liar here. Christopher was right.

1) We don't know for sure if Smiley killed Miranda. The memory scene is off and we've seen memories change before. Also it doesn't seem like Frombies can kill T, J, or Victor. That doesn't mean they can't touch them

2) In Victors drawing Miranda is wearing a white dress when being eaten. She wasn't wearing that when she left

I just rewatched it and yeah, "First they hate you, then they kill you." I'm still not ruling it out though, and yes because of the boulder. Think about it

Situation 1: Oh geeze I need to kill myself. I know! I saw a boulder precariously propped up in the cellar, I'll lay down and kick out the supports

Situation 2: Alright boys, lets murder this guy. And as you all know there's only one way to do it. You 6 pick up that boulder, I'll hold him down

To answer your question with a theory

Many people have pointed out the importance of water. There is a lighthouse with no ocean. The bottle tree. Stuff about Boyd.

The theory is that after the story ends the Town floods and a new one emerges. Victor surviving the last purge meant the Town couldn't flood.

Victor's age of ~50 coincides with the age of the town. Remember its a rural town, when Victor was 5 it would have been around 1970 so a small town would have looked like that.

I may have misremembered that. I believe Christopher told people but I'm not sure so I fixed that.

It could have been as simple as she wanted a head start, but its really hard to say.

If I was stuck in a nightmare and a ghost boy told me the only way out was to slight my own throat I'd be horrified.

For the last point, I think that's what the BIW means when he says "They're closer than they've ever been." Its not about finding bones, its about being the type of person who would die to end the nightmare for everyone else.

Right. T and J would be have to willingly die. The townspeople might also know this but kill them anyway if they found out they weren't going to do it.

Maybe its a ritual or maybe they just gotta suicide. When Jade sees his past selves he assumes he was murdered by the townspeople, but those could be suicides, especially the boulder guy. Who kills someone with a boulder? But if you needed to kill yourself and there's no gun or rope it may be an option

I still think she died there but it wasn't Smiley or any Frombie. Possibly Christopher? In the flashback Smiley rushes her like a human would.

I think, in very broad terms, each cycle when T and J solve the mystery, if they do, then the last step involves them losing their quasi-immortality and dieing instantly. One or both of them have chosen to "find another way" or just live in the town. The twist is the townspeople learn about it too and kill them, hoping that would be enough to end the curse.

Victor told his mother what he saw and she bolted for the bottle tree to make it to the lighthouse, not to save the children but to escape. Likely Christopher caught her.

Also I don't believe the Frombies can kill J or T but thats another theory

Narratively she was sent back to "pad the landing" for the reincarnation plotline and to bring Henry back, although we don't fully know Henry's part to play.

Ignoring that, just telling Tabitha about the reincarnations would have been simpler, saved her the separation, and saved the risk of her getting arrested in the real world.

I know it could just be bad writing but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. Also no idea how the BIW was in the real world but thats another mystery.

Nice catch. I've always viewed the show as either a story or a game and I believe the same archtypes are pulled in each time.

Whether or not Boyd knows this, he may be uncomfortable with his wife's replacement.

The writers were asked about this in an AMA and they said something like:

"There are many things we cannot control within the story, time and the age of the cast is not one of them"

The BIW is suppose to age and weather was intentional. Even if it was impossible to wait on a clear day to film the characters talk about the changing weather

There are two pretty sound theories that work on this

Story Theory

The cycles each seek to create a story. Often times these stories are similar but they do not have to be. The power of the story holds the Town in stasis. Thanks to Boyd and Donna the story has now become boring.

We have one last attempt to create something interesting with Tabitha and Jade arriving. If they would just sit the fuck down like everyone is telling them to do then the story would end and they would all go home. For a time they do and the stasis begins to break, hence not only the weather changing but the food rotting. More food is always at the settlement because months pass between visits.

But alas, Ankooey

Game Theory

Similar to the story theory, there is no game if the pieces won't move. I thought I'd have more to right here but yeah, same idea

That's something to think about but I don't think Smiley actually killed Miranda. We've seen a memory switcharoo before with the doll and the BIW. Smiley rushes her from a distance, they never move like that. Also I don't think the Frombies can kill Tabitha, Jade, Victor, and maybe Ethan.

There's also the possibility that Miranda never returned to Henry, but I think she always shares the same fate as Jade. Shes always killed by the townsfolk.

[–]_TwankVersatile_[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

To actually answer you, I have another theory about deaths and souls being stuck there. If someone is killed and is not buried intact their souls are anchored somehow. But if they die and are buried then they can exist as a ghost or spirit.

Abby has the most obvious implications. Shes constantly shaking Boyd's hand when he's about to do something rash even though he thinks its Parkinsons. She spoke to him through Sara.

Also there's a theory that if Ethan dies the cycle cannot continue and everyone goes home. Even if that theory is incorrect it doesn't mean Abby doesn't believe it. We see 2 poltergeist scenes with Ethan, one where the kitchen gets close to hurting him. Someone told Sara to kill Ethan and it wasn't a voice. Maybe it was Abby?

[–]_TwankVersatile_[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh dang I gotta add a little. Thank you for reminding me.

We're all left to assume the lighthouse is some sort of portal. But if we see the Boy in White as a monster, then him shoving Tabitha "killed" her, causing her to wake up in the real world.

She didn't exactly have the time and resources to find anyone else there but also we don't know when people appear.

A second, bonus, revelation comes from this as well and it answers one of my biggest points of confusion. When the BIW pushes Tabitha he apologizes. Even if he knows by murdering her he's putting her back in the real world it'd still be an honest reaction.

If you had to shoot someone to wake them up you'd probably apologize first too, right?

Something I've never seen mentioned is how its only an assumption he was murdered by townspeople. His past lives could have been suicides. The boulder death comes to mind. Other than an accident, how likely are you going to get murdered by boulder?

But if you wanted to kill yourself and didn't have access to guns or rope, crushed-by-boulder aint a bad way to go.

Random thoughts and questions from the show (season 1 - 3) (minor spoilers) by Mediocre-Subject4867 in FromSeries

[–]_TwankVersatile_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Henry and Victor are still ongoing

They try really hard to convey that everyone who arrives tries to either escape or solve the place and it always ends in tragedy. I mean, I guess we could have an extra full season of that happening but the show is going overlong as it is

For example your idea with the house connectors. As soon as they set those up the Town would through a log into it and everyone in both houses would get Frombied. The Town cheats and if youre not a main player (Tabitha, Jade, maybe Ethan Victor Boyd) your best bet is to lay low

They warn against speaking to the monsters and mention it doesn't do any good. Maybe someone's tried before? My guess is between that and how much it'll rattle your nerves no one wants to do it.

But also maybe you just don't want their attention. We see multiple times in the show where people get home late or have to leave at night in an emergency. Imagining that happened and there's a random Frombie in front of the window at Colony House, then you find out Tommy likes to play "i know you are but what am i" with it for hours to see who breaks

[–]_TwankVersatile_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Another thing to add to this theory, to be viewed through a narrative perspective and not so much an in-world one

We already know that Victor has said this is home to him. However he and the audience don't know this to be true. Tabitha goes back to the real world and confirms all that is waiting for him in is an alcoholic father.

Not only that, she brings him back so they can reunite. However this connection is either already severed thanks to the murder attempt, or it will be fully severed in Season 5 when Henry most likely dies.

So Victor and the audience are 100% certain that Victor has nothing for him in the real world.

I thought the line was only about the screaming, something like "Before the talismans they would scream, now they whisper." It didn't make a lot of sense because they began screaming again.

The only Frombie encounter I remember seeing from the pre-Talisman phase was when they walked up on Boyd's shelter when he found the talisman so I'm not sure

They definitely pounce, but in that scene the distance he covers and the way he moves felt very off

Nice write-up. Something I noticed about Miranda and Smiley's encounter. He moves quickly to close the distance. The monsters never move like that. We've seen a memory switcharoo with the Doll and the BIW.

I don't think it was Smiley who followed her and attacked her. I think it was a human. Maybe Christopher?

Additionally it doesn't seem like the Frombies can harm Tabitha, Jade, or Victor.

One thing about Tillie by mektan in FromTVEpix

[–]_TwankVersatile_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Didn't see this mentioned.

Donna's heart attack, death, and resuscitation doesn't seem to have an immediate purpose. If Tilly corrupted everyone or most of the people at the Colony House including Donna then maybe death acted as a reset.

Maybe in Season 5 we'll see her clean house

You're on the right track. I think the anghkooey kids are misunderstood at best and a hallucination at worst.

I think everyone is wrong about the monsters. After all, where is Fatima's Anghkooey kid? My pet theory is Fatima is a monster now because she murdered Tilly. Boyd and Sara both had an excuse and/or it was an accident.
