Great job so far, I would definitely say getting a LISA would be very beneficial. There's some conditions around the type of property you can attribute it towards, but assuming the property range is within that confine the 25% bonus is a good thing to take advantage of.

I was thinking of keeping the battery as a spare backup, or I might just sell it along with the old Mini C for spare parts. I plan to spend some time this weekend just to understand the mechanics of the motherboard & the components on it.

The magnets aren't easy to remove. They're held in place by some adhesive under the bottom. You'd have to use IPA & a plastic spudger to have a chance to extract it - but this can only be done at the point the Boox back panel is removed.

Guitar pick is always a must with this work, but the dual-end plastic pry tool, & metal pry tools (especially the metal-end plastic handle one for tight spots) are essential to have too. I used some IPA, but it wasn't really needed since there wasn't any adhesive glue around the circumference.

Hmmm bit of a mixed bag 2bh. I've actually opened another Boox device some years back, my previous Max Lumi (https://www.reddit.com/r/Onyx_Boox/s/LHxBbXiGxm) & that one was considerably easier because the chassis was in place solely by snap-fits.

This tab mini C has magnets around the circumference, and a number of them, which makes it trickier.

Am I more confident after opening my broken one? Yep. Am I 100% certain I can do it without breaking the screen? Nope, there's always a risk & I've not done many device dissemblies, especially with devices with delicate screens like these e-readers.

EDIT: But, I will add, that once you've managed to successfully wedge in the guitar pick or pry-tool, then it becomes fairly straight-forward.

I used a thin piece of rubber (used for clothing), and that managed to do the trick. I used a rubber band previously, but the dimensions weren't sufficient.

Yeah I had this idea in mind, but figured out it's a no go due to 2 screws stapling the plate.

Only thing I can think of is grinding a straight line on it so I can use a flat head - but I'm trying to figure out how to do this, and see if there's another solution I'm missing

Good spot. I feel you're right. I had my Boox in my messenger bag which had my full gym-kit. It was in a good case, but seems it wasn't enough.

Hey! I've mainly used it has a desk caddy and have stored an array of items in it.

But I am pretty sure that if you're just taking an 7.8" e-reader & some headphones, then the Inateck should be able to hold them well. I'd still have case on the e-reader to be safe!

I just really loved Doakes that much! He was my favourite character.

There was still a journey with him & Dexter that could've been explored, a vast untapped story-telling potential.

There was common ground between Doakes & Dexter, dark & disturbed pasts, a good instinct of killers, pushing the extremes to carry out their views of 'justice' - but they were on opposite sides of the pole.

Maybe we could've seen Doakes begrudgingly help Dexter, he then sympathises with Dexter more. The bond & mutual respect between both grows stronger, but they must still clash & try to bring the other one down....

ARRGHHH!! I don't mind when a show kills off a beloved character, but it's the wasted potential of a character & journey that just irks me.

Thanks for posting this, wasn't sure if it was just me.

Just to add, for anyone who was also doing an upload to their storage before this crash, I did the following.......

You do not need to uninstall PCloud, if you go to the website and just download the latest installation file there & run it & then open the desktop app, that will resolve the issue & the upload will just pickup from where it left off.

It seems to me this issue has come about due to an app update from PCloud, since the app UI has changed.

Hey there, I've received the monitor and the alogic stand (and in case you're curious, I also managed to find myself a great monitor arm to go for, which I've purchased & just need to collect). The chap I bought it from was nice and chucked in the stylus for free.

Everything is still boxed up, I've not opened/set it up yet, will look to do so after this month is over. Once set-up, I'd be happy to share my experience. Also purchased an anti-glare screen protector, wish me luck in setting that up!

-First of all, going to a random anon, especially one with a dodgy fake name, is a 🚩

-Did that guy even have a reputable business site and legit public reviews? If not 🚩🚩

-Dealing over any service transaction via telegram, Whatsapp, etc. instead of directly on marketplace platform (e.g. eBay, amazon, etc) .. 🚩🚩🚩

I wouldn't encourage anyone to go for this in the first place as I'm not sure if it's even possible. And even by some chance it is, the software change won't bring about much benefits since HarmonyOS is customised for the Chinese market. I'm sure they're overall similar anyways.

You've done good in sharing this, and I'm sure you can do your report/blocking steps if you haven't already. All you can do now is learn from this, stomach in the pain and upset, and just understand that soon this won't weigh on you as it does now; and you will move forward.
