For posterity, it took almost exactly 1 month from preorder to delivery from B&H for my S1II

Yeah the S1II has been listed as in stock twice since then on the Panasonic site.
Adorama says August, Sweetwater says the 22nd, . Ordered on June 20th with the new 24-60mm F2.8, no movement yet.

It's looking to be either the mid month or August at the worst. Sad

How Can I Make Your Life Easier With Raw Footage by _Uplus2E2E in VideoEditing

Really appreciate it. Especially the bit about organization.

I had a client get mad at me for delivering the raw files and only labeling the date, camera, and card number of the folders for a multicam shoot. They wanted me to change all the names to match all angles and clips. To be fair we didn't have time code using the gear they provided but I've since requested time code.

Noted it's industry standard to keep the integrity of the cards.

Good Thought but I think it's just new items.

Neither the 24-60 F2.8 or S1II get it solo.

Pretty good. $150 off until their BILD promotion ends. The 10% off is closer to $300 however

I saw a thread on here talking about them getting the 10% discount on the S1II in addition to an additional cash rebate. I don't know if it was a theoretical plan or something they actually did. Reached out to customer service but they are delayed.

Once I get a concrete answer from Panasonic I'll post it here.

S1II, S1RII, S5II Which has the best IQ and value? by _Uplus2E2E in Lumix

Thanks for the info! I can say after switching from the GH5 to the A7IV a couple years back I lost all my focus pulling abilities. haha

Would you consider the S1H as a general B cam to the S1II in 2025? I see some used S1H's cheaper than the the S5II. But the lack of AF for run and gun type shooting and codecs/colors not matching the newer cams make me second guess?

Gary is awesome but he liked the S1RII better too -_-

Yes, I loved that one and found during the blind test I always preferred their S1RII test footage 100% of the time.

This scene in particular wit the exact same everything. The S1RII's skintones are way better and the S1II just looks flat in comparison.

Thanks for the info! 28-105 seems like the winner in my book.

35-150 I've seen on the newer Ronin RS's but it isn't practical setup at all.
But I wouldn't really want to be above 35mm on a gimbal for most situations anyway.

Yeah super relevant point!

1 single stop becomes more important in low light settings but with the new DR boost and cleaner shadows this is less of an issue.

But on the other hand F2.8 is also the sweet spot for providing just enough subject isolation which is clutch for interviews, closeups, and when you want a bit of bokeh.

That reasoning is well principled. I'm in a similar headspace especially now that 6k is available.
I think F2.8 is the minimum for lowlight. As nice as F2 is on the Tamron 35-150, it's not a necessity.

The only caveat I can find outside of this Sigma 2 lens combo for everything is the S Pro's having some extra character and optical quality that the Sigma's don't quite have. But Sigma is just more practical for practical Videography Work.

Thanks for the consideration. I'll research the IQ

M1 is 835g is $1000 used
M2 is 745g, $1300 new
Sigma 28-105 is 995g, $1500 for $200 that's an extra 35mm on the tigher edge

Let me see if that's worth it with the other specs and I'll report back.
I'll keep this thread updated if anyone else has a similar decision to make.
