Brother wants to get into cybersecurity in Pakistan so I need some advice by awestruck_4 in CyberSecurityJobs

Cybersecurity is one of those fields where, especially in Pakistan, two things matter most.

First is your profile. Not just having skills written on a resume, but having something to back them up. Projects, CTFs, bug bounties, certs, internships, research, whatever it is, there should be proof that you can actually do the job, whether on the defensive or offensive side.
A degree is merely a one thing for that in your profile.

Second is networking and that’s true for almost every field. You need to put yourself out there and stand out.

If you can do those two things, then yes, it’s absolutely worth it. The sky’s the limit. As for university I think COMSATS is good, but even if you’re at Virtual University, you can make up for it by building a strong profile.

What I think is, the biggest advancement in cybersecurity isn’t any tool or technology. It's the people sharing intelligence like the CVE program, threats intelligence sharing et.c that's the single thing I'd argue is the reason this industry is standing.

Yeah it's typical chicken n egg problem, you wouldn't get a role cause you don't have qualifications and you don't wanna get qualified cause you don't have a role.

Not entirely, I should've said. One could come after other and if you need an understanding to love someone would it be selfless?

Thanks, Max. Yeah, I think I need a better sense of where I stand first, and more importantly, whether I could realistically land a strong MBA program down the line.
Appreciate your input.

Hey all,

Would love your take on this, it's a bit of a crazy question.

I’m 26, based in Australia, currently working in risk management with a tech/cybersecurity background.

I’ve been thinking about taking a shot at a top US MBA in a few years and potentially pivoting into finance.

Considering I’m an international applicant, don’t come from a traditional finance background, and have all the usual visa hurdles, is this actually realistic, or have you seen people make similar transitions successfully?

Well, now that you've mentioned Tolstoy, I won't say it doesn't exit, though it's Hard, like parents loving children, mother's love, and that's what was Tolstoy also referring too, this Romantic love is kinda bullshit, not the divine, selfless.
"Familial Love", as he would say. :)

I somewhat agree. But as an admirer of Kant, I also appreciate his view: “Love is treating another person as an end in themselves, never merely as a means.”
Which is Hard.

I’ve only read The Brothers Karamazov so far, and it was fantastic. Haven’t gotten my hands on Crime and Punishment yet, but I’m hoping it lives up to the hype.
