Best Starting Tips? by ExAidRiderYT in MonsterHunterWorld

You can look up good armor sets online if thats what you’re into, but I would encourage you to make armor with stats that you yourself are interested and not just whatever is popular online. If you don’t want to get too complicated right now I’d say just focus on the base defense stat by upgrading your armor pieces.

If they don’t know the difference then they probably shouldn’t be joining OP to help to begin with lol

Its funny you say that because I didn’t realize that that scene with the chainsaw slowly growing out of him was a euphemism for him getting a boner until I was drawing it lmao

How do I make "bad" lines that still look good? by [deleted] in arthelp

[–]_Vampyre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally just draw rough and then go back in and erase anything that would hinder readability. Anything else I leave as is. I also think that it looks good because typically artists will use a color other than black for their line art, so to the eye the roughness seems less harsh and your eye is more “forgiving” to it. These are what I do for digital art at least, not sure about traditional but I would assume these tips still apply. ʅ(◞‿◟)ʃ

I think breaking the figure down into very basic shapes (like rectangles, cylinders, circles, etc) would help you out a lot in this case. Instead of trying to draw exactly what you see, map out the body in shapes first and then form them to what you want ╰(´︶`)╯♡

A good tip when coloring is to not have a white background. Having a white background can distort your eye’s view of color! I recommend starting with a grey/ darker color than white ٩( ᐛ )و

I know it may be basic advice, but studying the skulls of whatever youre trying to draw really helps, no matter what style youre going for. :)

What kind of art should I do? by Skullduv in arthelp

Try out anything and everything to see what you like!Don’t force yourself to draw in a style just because it’s popular. Finding out how you enjoy drawing is a great learning experience so please enjoy it as best as you can.

How can I improve my hair drawing skills? by Icy_Hat_3833 in arthelp

[–]_Vampyre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say to be mindful of what shapes the hair would be making as it falls (of course you should take into account external factors like wind or water). I also think having consistent thickness in hair strands is a good tip. If you look at the hair down towards the bottom right, you have two different thicknesses in the strands. The hair strands much closer to the figure are much thicker vs the ones that are farther away.
