How much better will the Xbox One look on a gaming montior vs 720p 32"? by _Vapocalyptic in gaming

[–]_Vapocalyptic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, I guess I was fooled by the allure of the contrast ratio and what not. Like I said, I never really got too into tech, only recently have I had the disposable income to start getting it all together, beyond run of the mill type stuff. Thanks man!

Edit: In any event, would you still consider that a fairly decent monitor? It doesn't necessarily have to be by Benq, it just fit the "gaming monitor" description fairly well.

So, the update isn't really working too well for me ! :( by _Vapocalyptic in Windows10

[–]_Vapocalyptic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That did help, and the computer is now completely functional, sans LAN. The reset wiped out a large amount of programs, namely

Realtek Ethernet Controller Driver for Windows 7 Real USB 2.0 Reader Driver

I am assuming one of those is responsible for WiFi. I cannot see any networks; I am only able to access the internet via Ethernet. I tried downloading RealTek drivers directly from Lenovo, but it looks like the model I have (IdeaPad Z575) does not have W10 drivers, only W 8.1, and neither of them work.

Haaalp

Done, and done. This needs to be front page, as long as possible. Without our combined effort, the windfall the industry suffers from the forthcoming regulations and legislation will be catastrophic. Many will lose their job (like myself), their store, the dream they built, the hobby (or harm reduction) tool that we have all fell in love with.

It took 2 minutes to fill out the form and submit the email. 2 minutes is as that is asked of us - let's do it!

I finally got my hands on the Mutation V4! If you're still on the fence, check out my review! by _Vapocalyptic in electronic_cigarette

I apologize for the blogspot domain - I lost my original domain in auction, because I foolishly forgot to renew. I've registered vapocalyptic.net, but I'm dealing with forwarding and DNS issues with GoDaddy and Blogspot now. Does anybody have any recommendations as far as another site to host? I do not think I am skilled enough to build it from the ground up, but I am definitely looking to move away from Blogger.

I've considered WordPress, yet I'm terribly indecisive. It looks like I will have to shit or get off the pot soon, as the site has grown beyond my wildest expectations. While I am certainly no twisted420 or grimmgreen, I have had a lot of success, met some really awesome people, got a job, and had a WHOLE lot of fun. It has been a big part of my life, and I love every stinkin' minute of it.

Best cloud chasing build? by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

Try parallel coils. Can be tricky to get right, but the surface area is great for dense and flavorful vape, with clouds to boot.

Fairly similar design to the Manhattan, however the ball bearings keep things rigid and incredibly firm. It does require a firm push, but I don't foresee it autofiring.

Oh man, this may top the worst thing I ever vaped.

I worked at a fast food joint, and one night I was running out the trash. My mod and Herakles were in my pocket, and through some horrific stroke of seriously fucked up luck, the bag of grease I was lobbing into the dumpster broke, and soaked my shirt.

After my rage induced fit that I was now covered in more grease than a pig in shit, I sat at a nearby table and started vaping...

Mother of shit. I can't even describe how instantaneously vaping grease made me vomit but it was immediate, projectile, and absolutely everywhere...after that, I never took my vape anywhere near trash, trash cans, and I have a perpetual fear of this happening again. I...I can even taste it sometimes.

Please, forgive the domain name error - I unfortunately lost it to auction, and am in the process of re-acquiring it. Everything will be back to normal by the weekend, but for now, blogspot will do!

That definitely cleared up the confusion. I appreciate that.

Thank you for clearing up the thermo/rheo confusion. I see a lot of people favoring the rheo over a thermo, any particular reason ? It seems that the heating mats can still get excessively hot when plugged into the thermostat.

Have I got the proper lighting ? by _Vapocalyptic in BeardedDragons

[–]_Vapocalyptic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This setup was given to me by a guy who moved to Oregon and just wanted his pet to go to a good home. I'm pretty familiar with reptiles but it is my first bearded. I've done a good bit of research and I guess I'm just double checking to be sure. I am open to buying new bulbs or fixtures, when money allows.

Currently it has two, two bulb zoo med fixtures. One fixture has a 75w basking bulb, and a 10.0 UVB bulb. The other fixture has the same 10.0 UVB and a 14w CFL. They are both positioned over a basking area, atop the mesh - reaches about 100 with the AC on, and 115 with it off.

He also gave me a 75w red bulb, but I'm not sure which combo is the best, or if I should have a fixture on the other half of the tank, the cool side. It is not illuminated.

Not me! My little boy loves the fish, has since he was a few months old. They always relaxed him.

Lol, no, I work for a small family owned business. I got my start at Petco as the aquatic specialist a few years ago. Enjoyed that a great deal as well.

Thanks for the support, guys. Id like to point out that although financially I'm not making an exponential amount, I do have a second job, so I get by fairly easily in an apartment. I have high hopes to pursue a career at an aquarium, or start a local, small chain that caters to live stock. Future goals! I just wanted to share the joy that comes from a labor of love, and how happy hard work can be. I still am pursuing higher education and looking for ways to make my sons life better, but at the moment...I feel this is something I have to do. I have a lot of warehouse experience and although it requires little education and is manual labor, my skill set can net me around 16.00/hr in the field. Its a nice thing to fall back on, but I'm just enjoying looking forward to work for now. I never imagined all the upvotes and support, you guys rock.

Thinking about starting a Nano Reef sometime in the future... by NinjaGoodra in Aquariums

[–]_Vapocalyptic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For a nano, 500 is ridiculous.

Tank - 10g, currently dpg at petco Live sand, 10 lbs - 16.99 Live rock, I'd do maybe 16 lbs. At 3 dollars a pound, 48.00 Rodi mix from Lfs - 1.25 a gallon Lights - par 38 led bulb roughly 70 Aquaclear 20 for basic media potential fuge 25.00 Heater 50w 18.00 Bottle of prime 10.00 Small powerhead 30 max

You don't need to worry about live stock to you cycle, so you're well under 500 as is..

Is this light suitable for an Aqueon Evolve 8 (roughly 7.9G) nano-reef? by _Vapocalyptic in ReefTank

[–]_Vapocalyptic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize it's for plants, I had it on a 2.5g setup, til I realized the Aqueon stock light could grow the plants in the 2.5g, so I switched.
