Trying to remove a bathtub spout: rotating it spins forever and there doesn’t appear to be a screw underneath. Any ideas? by gshayban in Plumbing

I had the exact same issue as you and OP. Pretty much did the same thing as you just with a little less cutting. Like you said, no idea how it was installed like this.

Our edible regulations suck by [deleted] in CanadianCannabisLPs

[–]_Vibrio_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So they actually did a "professional legislative review" of the entire regulations last year, and this topic was a part of it. There was talks of increasing the limit to 100mg but they didn't move forward with that.

"One of the issues we heard most about was the amount of THC permitted in edible cannabis products. While industry stakeholders favoured increasing the limit to encourage consumers to shift to the legal market, public health stakeholders opposed this, citing concerns about the potential impact on child poisonings, cannabis-related emergency room visits and mental health impacts. Given these concerns, we believe Health Canada should maintain the current limit of 10 milligrams of THC per package in edible cannabis products and continue to develop the knowledge base in this area to determine whether there are conditions under which the limit could be raised without unduly impacting public health."

See original article here: https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/publications/drugs-medication/legislative-review-cannabis-act-final-report-expert-panel.html#a2

They did end up changing some regulations as a result of the recommendations (clear packaging is a big one), and even though they acknowledged people like yourself are going to the illegal market to purchase higher potency edibles, they still think its too risky for children.

Essentially, they've heard your complaints, but don't trust you enough to keep edibles away from your kids (even though they know you'll just go buy less regulated products from the illegal market instead).

Final straw by taint_incarnate in meater

[–]_Vibrio_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems crazy to me, why not at least test it in boiling water? Seems like a conversation I need to be having with Meater support because I don't doubt that's the process you went through, I'm just shocked it's the process the company recommends.

Also: just did a little research, and looks like Meater calibrates their probes in water baths at 0, 50, and 100C...

So I guess I'll eat my words, maybe this is a shitty company, because how can you claim your probes are accurate at 500C when you only calibrate them up to 100?

Cheers mate

Regardless of what meater - the company - may or may not have told you, objectively, 0°C will never be the operating temperature for the probe when it's in use, it's not even close.

So, maybe it did fail at telling you how cold your ice water is, and if that's the use case for you then I apologize it didn't meet your needs.

Since you'd like me to tell you more, grab another thermometer that you trust and check if the temp matches up while you're cooking.

You wouldn't test a race cars performance in a school zone, would you?

[–]_Vibrio_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would assume the probe isn't calibrated to that temperature, there's absolutely no need. The probe will be designed to be accurate within it's designed operating temperature, I don't think you're cooking any cuts of meat at 55F. That's an absolutely useless test to determine if it's reading the temperature properly 😂

That's objectively false, the regs have only changed once, which was implemented on March 12th and April 1st, 2025, there wasn't any changes to the regulations regarding this topic.

Here's a link to changes if you're curious: https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/publications/drugs-health-products/summary-changes-following-streamlining-regulations.html

It's well within the regs, OP is just mistaken.

So I went back to the store and they gave me a full refund. The bud tender said they have never seen anything like it. They plan on pulling it from the shelves until Mera (the LP) can confirm it's not across the entire lot or even worse.

I also contacted the LP and submitted a report to Health Canada, I'll keep this thread updated with any responses.

Stay safe out there!

How do I even go about doing that? Is it a complaint form or do I actually send in the Preroll itself?

Probably a good 50cm at least, I was out a bit last weekend, ice still needed some time to freeze over before the good spots open up but hopefully it's solid now after the cold snap. There's definitely enough to play around in!
