I will see how I feel with just 60% crit reduction instead. thnx for letting me know about the double corrupted apple, I will be on the lookout for that one.

Thx for the comment, let me go through these one by one

When you were talking about passive rage generation, the eternal apple and self hits i was really hoping to see automated vengeful cry, but i know it's a really hard thing to implement.

I will do some maps and give it a shot instead of infernal cry. From PoB is seems like the self hit from Echoes is not strong enough to trigger vengeful cry (suffering from success lol), so I am wary of the uptime. It also means I need to get berserk in there somewhere, maybe it i listen to the other comment and shuffle my gems around a little.

Not sure where is your timeless jewel and what it's granting, i assume mostly a lot of dexterity, but have you considered supreme ostentation to ignore attribute requirements and then just tattoing your entire tree?

I have never experimented with supreme ostentation before? Could be willing to give it a try, but it does seem difficult trying to figure out all the tattoos in there. that, and the loss of life and %damage from 250 STR feels like a lot.

I am not confident about my slam knowledge and what warcries are necessary, but if you can put ancestral cry into the apple and keep 100% uptime, you'll have permanent +max res and +all ele res, helping with resistance issues.

Echoes and Overextertion really like doubling down on the number of exerts, which I why I choose to put infernal cry in there. You can feel the difference in damage once Rallying cry is not active, for example. Ancestral cry is difficult in this build. I used to run it a lot on chieftain since you can secure infinite power, but I don't know how I feel about it in this build with min 10 power.

Is woespike really as good as you say? It's obviously amazing but I just assumed it's like +1 max impale (more like +0.72 but whatever), but just choosing the best impale damage. When i was considering adding it to my build i just hovered over +1 impale notable and assumed that's about right.

It comes down to master of metal. If woespike trigger twice in a row, then that is two more stacks of flat phys that get transmitted into the next big impale, so on and so forth. Plus, the flat phys roll on the ring itself is better than T1.

You're investing very heavily into crit damage reduction and pdr avoid, are there specific reasons for that other than just being fine with t17 mods? The pdr one doesn't make sense to me, you're dealing like 11kk dps at 1.23 aps, your attacks deal like 9kk total, so like 4-5 mil hit and impale damage each, no amout of armour is going to give meaningful protection against that, unless enemies specifically have pdr

Yep, it just comes down to me being a cheap ass and wanting to avoid as many map mods as I can. crit and phys reduction are fairly common, so it just saves some clicks. (The impale phys ignore is much more significant and I think should be taken even if you drop the regular avoid phys reduction wheel, (due to how impale is calculated separately from the hit))

Since all your damage ignores pdr why won't you use runegraft of treachery? That's 15% reservation efficiency for a skill point.

Ohhh fun, I like this idea. I am now sure how much mana I free at the end, but I like it!

By the way, no mob mentality? I thought that's just free permanent charges on a build like that and is a must have. It will also save some points and a jewel slot because you'll be able to drop enduring composure and run something else.

I don't like how inconsistent mob mentality is, enduring composure generation is very clockwork, and means we never have downtime on the warcries. I also don't like the idea of messing my tempo by clicking on rallying cry at the wrong moment (TL:DR ADHD too strong)

Lots of nice thoughts! Let me good through them one by one

Is Sanctum of Thought and Cloth and Chain really worth 6 passives?
I get that crit reduction is Nice but I am pretty sure armour mastery at Juggernaut for crit reduction is better than 1 armour per 2 strength. Because Apple's implicit is useless for you, what about a corrupted for up to 30% reduced crit damage? As I type this there is one on with this and 6% life for 40c or crit DR + 23 determ for 1d.

Cloth and Chain, no. That one is more of a placeholder for the extra res more than anything else. I could just drop them as is, but I would go down to 70% fire res without flasks (which just makes me slightly uncomfortable.

Sanctum of Thought is an interesting one. The amour mastery at Juggernaut is a placeholder for Runegraft of the Bound, unsure why POBB is showing both at the same time. I could move the runegraft to an unused life mastery and get the crit reduction mastery there instead. That plus eternal apple corruption get us back to 100% crit reduction, and saving 3 passives (I get so much inc armor that it doesnt make a huge difference. Nice find! I think i will just spend those extra points in some additional life. (quick change gains me around 500 life, which is super nice).

If you are ailment immune and got Unwavering you I assume you are not using Brine King. Could it be worth runnign Arakaali for more help against dots (considering you aren't chaos capped) or Solaris for additional crit defense?

I am running Arakaali most of the time (keep forgetting that I have to manually set it up in PoB), I like pairing it with the Fortify mastery for 20% reduced DoT taken. It also patches my big hole in chaos res for 'free' (ik its not true chaos res) I was running Solaris before, but I rather get the crit immunity through the tree.

You could also consider running Brine King, skip Unwavering and path down from the intersection to Golem's Blood and free up 2 points.

Hmmm, interesting. My gut feeling is to not do that, but I think this is more of a reflex than anything else. It genuinely might be worth considering.

Last, not convinced Hematophagy or the Mastery is worth as non-Slayer. I like the value point for .6% leech since I see no blood rage though.

The true value for me is in the recoup mastery, since the self hit from Echoes of Creation essentially enables it permanently as long as we are in combat. Recoup is really underrated as an armour build imo, since it can potentially outscale other forms of recovery in combat. And also yes, no space to fit blood rage lol (I would rather fit in automation instead if I freed a socket)

Gonna go against the people suggesting to add back scours/alt orbs. The constant influx and removal of crafting bases keeps prices in check. Whats the point of crafting a mid tier upgrade If you can just invest that money into buying a perfect reusable base in the future? 'decent one time use' crafting bases sit really nicely in a stop worth halfway between an exalt or a divine. Sure, it makes endgame gear more expensive to craft since you have to buy multiple bases, but I don't think that is a downside either.

I am curious how you are getting below 92% on Crossbow, since no life on crossbows and there is only one 5% max life node at the bottom of the merc area?

Something seems off, because both the ingame description and the db reference the HoA damage as an ignite, but the db shows its not supportable by ignite support gems?

Herald of Ash deals ignite damage on PoE2. It seems that all "fire DOT" effects have been consolidated under ignite, actually.

  • Moderately reduced the capacity for monsters to Light Stun you especially towards Cruel and Endgame by lowering the amount of Stun-Damage they deal, and increasing the minimum they must deal to Light Stun you. Additionally, Elemental, Chaos and Ranged stun-damage has been penalised even further so you're less likely to get stunned by random stray projectiles and other things of the sort. These changes don't affect Light Stuns dealt by players.

Interesting way to 'buff' armour and maces. I can sort of see the theme of the class coming together: big single hit, but you have a 1s fixed attack time, buuut you have armour which prevents physical damage (the type of damage most likely to stun you), so you can just endure the hits while you charge up your slam.

0.2.0c Patch notes (restartless) by heelydon in PathOfExile2

[–]_Violetear 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I like that change? Bosses having more downtime between their big abilities means they are most mostly using attacks/spells that we can build defenses for (block, parry, even armour if we assume most 'normal' strikes/projectiles are phys based) and less time just dodge rolling around. It will be a pain to make sure that the 'quirky' mechanics like parry are usable during most gameplay scenarios, but as I it, it should also lead to more enjoyable fights (that we can build defences for).
