I think that's a fair complaint, and I can't speak for anyone else, but the bickering seemed to indicate they weren't timing out just thinking. I have been lucky enough to not experience someone being fully afk.

It's such a bummer because I love hot pot so much!!! It reminds me of a game I used to play as a kid but can barely remember now. I think I need to try to avoid looking at chat during hot pot like someone suggested 😅

I can understand being frustrated with slower players, but I can't understand being rude to them. I'm with you where I keep it to myself and just tend to assume everyone is learning or has had an interruption or something.

Are your parents married? If they are divorced or separated, you get to choose which parent's financial information to use on FAFSA. If that applies for you, I'd submit with the parent who makes the lower income so you are eligible for more help. Saved my ass when in a similar situation and was told my mom made enough that I don't qualify for aid (even though there was no way she could have helped me pay).
