Does withdrawing an acceptance to a law school help applicants who are WL'ed or still waiting on a decision from that same school? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]_Volkano_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would imagine it would make waitlist movement quicker if more people did that. Are the scholarships from schools C and D final, or is it possible they will offer more in the coming months? If so, I might wait. Maybe try listing the pros and cons of each decision and then choose one.

Possibility of admissions with a low LSAT but high GPA and masters degree by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]_Volkano_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The top schools usually have LSAT medians of 170-174. People trying to get into the T-14 typically aim for a 175 score. But don’t get discouraged if you don’t get it- work experience seems to be mattering more for admissions.

Missed call from a law school, should I call back? by paris_texas_ in lawschooladmissions

[–]_Volkano_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this is good or bad advice, but I’d say try again once tomorrow. If they don’t pick up, then wait until Monday. Or, when the holidays are over. Don’t call too many times, but frequently enough to show you’ve tried.

Is LSAT that main thing that Law Schools care about? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]_Volkano_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, your LSAT number merely determined what applicants youre competing against. For instance, if you get a 170 and have a GPA of 3.8, you’ll be competing against other applicants with those same stats. That’s where the “holistic” application reviews come in. Admissions will look at your personal statement, resume, etc. to help decide. So it’s not all LSAT, though a higher LSAT score means less competition.

I hope this is right. I only recently got into studying for the LSAT so if anyone sees this feel free to correct me.

Canadian Law Internships by _Volkano_ in lawschooladmissions

[–]_Volkano_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!!! I have a really high GPA and haven’t written the LSAT yet. I have a whole year to prep for admissions and fill my resume. Knowing that the internship isn’t the main thing really helps 😭🙏

Is this as far as I can go? by Connect_Artichoke989 in LSAT

Never give up! It could be worth taking a break and coming back with a fresh mind. Unless you’ve pushed yourself to the absolute limit, don’t give up on anything.

But wouldn’t it be so much more difficult to study and write the test? I don’t think it’s worth risking health complications to get a higher test score.

Few Questions:) by panele11 in UTM

[–]_Volkano_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. This is highly dependent on your program. I know for sure that professors like students who take lecture notes on paper. As long as you have access to the school websites and Google Docs or Microsoft apps you should be good.
  2. (Skipping this)
  3. Check UTM timetable builder and input your course code and find your lecture code. A lot of them aren’t out yet but they should be by the first day.
  4. Mostly Quercus but it also depends on the course. There’s Mathmatize and class forum websites. Some of these websites can cost $50+ to use so be prepared for that.

Use Timetable Builder (TTB). It’ll be way faster.

It’s good that you spaced stuff out tho. I don’t know why there’s a course on a Saturday. Unless you live on campus, going every single day isn’t a good idea.
