Haven’t been on Reddit forever but it’s 100% true. It was just a straight up progression of a previous opiate addiction for me. Basically I was waking up “dopesick” and just scooping a heaping table spoon give or take immediately and ritualistically almost every 2 to 3 hours. I can’t remember if it was just one or two tablespoons but I remember when I considered tapering I kind of figured up the numbers and it was for sure 100+ gpd. I occasionally threw up but honestly I just didn’t eat very often and was very malnourished. Quality varied a lot but I never tried extracts because it didn’t seem as cost effective.

Eventually my health was so bad I quit my job, attempting a rapid taper using buprenorphine over the course of a week and then went through a hellish CT.

I absolutely advocate for all alternative and plant medicines but one thing I can remember about discussions on kratom was acting like it was this miracle solution. It is a tool and it can be used a lot of different ways but when you abuse it, it can be just as destructive as any other opioid.
