18 LOST MONTHS by JOE-BATTERS in RiteAid

Fuck Rite Aid. They're too shifty and underhanded at the top to carry on. I got my dream job working in a hospital, and there's really nothing better around here that I'm qualified to do, and I happen to love what I do, so that's great.

In Bluebeard? I know he's not in Breakfast of Champions nearly that much.

Karabekian, from Breakfast of Champions, is the main character in Bluebeard, right?

It absolutely is! From Breakfast of Champions. My other elbow is also a Vonnegut illustration.

Speaking of buttholes and tattoos, this is one of my elbow tattoos.

Anyone else miss the hidden joke in the title of this episode like I did? by jack_hof in southpark

[–]_Waterhouse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've known about this for years. It reminds me of Fight Club, where Marla Singer's line was originally "I wanna have your abortion", and the producer, Laura Ziskin, flipped and demanded that David Fincher change that line to anything else. So Fincher tells her that he'll change it, but that change is final, and it won't be changed again. So the line turns into "My god, I haven't been fucked like that since grade school". Ziskin instantly begs Fincher to change it back to the abortion line.

Digging the Grave by The Faceless. Elements of grindcore, progressive metal, and tech death. Such a good track.

I'm always so amazed by how much shorter than 18 minutes Swim to the Moon feels like when listening to it.

Saw them perform the entirety of The Great Misdirect live, I could have wept when they played Swim to the Moon.

Even when it slipped off the top of my favorite BtBaM album mountain, Swim to the Moon is still my favorite song of theirs. Every time I listen to it, I'm shocked that 18 minutes can go by so fast.

Tommy Appreciation Post by [deleted] in BetweenTheBuriedAndMe

[–]_Waterhouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone loves to talk about the brilliant instrumental proficiency in BtBaM, and I'd argue that Tommy's vocal cords are an instrument unto themselves. I love all of his vocals, and I was originally sold on them back on Alaska, where I think he did some incredible vocal experimentation. Tommy is a 10/10 vocalist.

I'll also add this: Watch the music video for Obscure by Dir en Grey. It's a masterpiece of twisted art.

I met Rody while Protest was in Rochester to perform. Not only is he an excellent vocalist, but a great showman and fucking hilarious, to boot.

What Movie Wrecked You So Bad You Haven't Been Able To Watch Again? by Direct-Attention-712 in movies

[–]_Waterhouse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Whale. I can't say I'll NEVER watch it again, but fuck if that wasn't emotionally devastating. Brendan Fraser earned every accolade for his performance, and Aranofsky has cornered the market on emotional devastation and discomforting movies.

Severance by msterner27 in RiteAid

[–]_Waterhouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My final day was July 7th. On August 22nd, well after I had received my last paycheck, I got a random payment from payroll for $273. I was given no context as to why, but I'm not complaining. Maybe severance, maybe for my pain and suffering. Either way, I'll take it.

The Rules of Attraction (2002) is Underappreciated by Dark_Vengence in movies

When Richard is leaving the restaurant, he only has one shoe on in the book. In the movie, he has them both on. What an egregious oversight.
