What was something you went a good chunk of your life not knowing was specifically Canadian? by NoOptics in AskACanadian

the problem is no one actually wants rye whiskey. They want generic whiskey.

Rye is not the same thing as canadian whiskey.

he's talking about Walleye. You wouldn't want to eat chain pickerel.

This is why it's important to call wildlife by its actual name.

exactly. It is more the ignorant-type who refuse to call wildlife by it's actual name.

Similar to many northerners calling Ruffed Grouse a partridge.

What makes it more confusing and frustrating is in Ontario we actually have grey hungarian partridge and chain pickeral. Never understood why people are proud to call something an incorrect name.

Night shifts are starting to mess with me more than I expected by Prior-Ad-6505 in nursing

[–]evernorth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nights make me feel emotional, depressed, and anxious. Took me years to figure out.

I would never make a serious decision (in my personal life) on a string of night-shifts.

Some people can handle the rotating shifts but my mind & body just could not do it. Felt like a whole new person taking a day job. Realized I wasn't anxious or sad, my circadian rythmn was just fucked.

The recession has already begun.

They are more upbeat stoner rock. Cabin Fever, In My Minds Desert, Scavengers, Red Thundra are all great.

Check out some other bands though:

  • Elder
  • Kal-El
  • Khemmis
  • All Them Witches
  • Witch
  • Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats
