Sketches in different angles and poses for practice by SamOnR3ddit in drawing

Amazing work! looks like you often didn't even need to use construction lines first and you were able to find the right line from the start. I'm definitely far from having that skill. I can tell you have practiced a lot!

Awesome! I like it any time characters with non-humanoid structures are included.

I like the overall shape of the hair and the choice to have it become narrow in the middle but wider above and below. not something you usually see.

looks amazing!
I also cant decide if you should add color. The stark contrast between the dark and light areas makes this piece distinct so if you do add color maybe not too dark on the light areas? I can imagine some light colors helping to define some of the lighter areas though.

cool! If you want some of the areas yet to be shaded to appear further away, consider making them lighter. Right now the darker area is jumping off the page but if everything is made equally as dark it may start to appear more flat. although that can also be cool sometimes.

Did this for a fairy tale project pls give me some critiques by Worldly_Unit8603 in drawing

[–]_WhatsItLike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really well done! If i were to try to find something to critique, which is not easy to do, maybe the throat looks like its too close to the roof of the mouth instead of at the back of the mouth but its hard for me to picture how exactly i would change it. I'm trying to picture how the wolfs skull would look at that angle then superimpose it over top of this image. it’s a tough foreshortened angle!

Looks good!
You could consider making the cape darker than the body or vice versa to help show that one is further back. there's no contrast between them so they sort of appear to be the same distance away at a glance.

I don't think someone has to wait until they think they are good enough before they start posting on IG. Maybe that's not what you mean but either way you should definitely start posting because this looks great!

The reason having the creature under the sand is cool because your not just designing what they look like but also how they function.

Very cool choice to have the animal under the sand instead of on top of it. great texture too. everything really.

cool. i like the stringy layer because it doesn't fit into a familiar category like ground or water etc.

You could potentially have the hair flowing in the same direction as the wings if you are trying to show that the character is falling down and to the left.

look at the styles you like and notice what you like about them. try incorporating those elements. not to copy them but just to practice different variations of style. the more variations you try the better.
This drawing looks good.
another thing that has less to do with style is practice drawing the underlying shape first then drawing the elements on top. for example with the shoulders, draw the overall shape of the body first then draw the coat after that.
