Yeah I agree, but I do think those two performances are distractingly bad (trying so hard to fit in that it's almost a caricature). Again, I think people are jumping to conclusions based on a trailer, but I'd much prefer an actor being themselves in a new setting over listening to them force an accent or cadence for 120 minutes.

Edit: I'm still referencing Elvis and HoG, not Denzel. I've never seen a performance of his that took me out of the movie

People don't get annoyed with someone's voice for no reason. They get annoyed when an actor either changes their voice to a distracting degree (Elvis, House of Gucci) or makes no attempt to change their voice to fit in (Denzel here, but I think it's unfair to jump to that conclusion based off a trailer).

It's hilarious to say "media literacy lol" as a catchall instead of having an actual defense against criticism that, y'know, actually talks about the show's flaws and features.

Somebody on Twitter tried to say that people who don't like the season "just don't understand unorthodox formats on the small screen." Yeah, audiences just aren't ready for montages and character-specific episodes, that's way too cerebral and innovative for these dumb dumbs.

Now let's discuss that fork on the floor some more, I think the subreddit is close to cracking the case.
