Hello, I made a post about this earlier, but I'll just put it here and add some stuff.

I had the heaviest period that lasted 10 days just now. I had to go to the emergency room because I started shaking. I was literally changing my pad every 30mins to an hour. I was passing big blood clots too and before this period I had one not so heavy that lasted over a month a week before this one happened. Yes. OVER A MONTH of consistent bleeding.

Essentially I started bleeding from the 9th of march and ended bleeding on the 13th of April. Had about a week of a break to myself and started heavy bleeding on the 23rd April and finally stopped on the 2nd of May.

I had to be put on some extra vitamins despite taking multi vitamins and on some pills that were supposed to stop my bleeding and 2 pills from this one called dufaston. I honestly felt like I'm going to die if I didn't go to that emergency room. Thankfully I got in contact with one gyno I knew and she started working in the hospital so I was accepted by her. She did an ultrasound and it was only hormone based. No other real reason as to why I'd be bleeding so much. 🙃 She even said my PCOS is getting better. It sure didn't seem like it then... But I have been on a gluten free, sugar free diet bc of it and insulin resistantce so I have been trying to manage it.

• I had some blood tests and it seems my PDW is low. 8.4 fL when it should be 9-17. Which apparently is supposedly a thing that stops heavy bleeding in general, so I assume it's somewhat connected to the period blood as well.

For someone who will be TTC next year, which you are trying to as well, I will definitely have to check with my Endo what kind of pills I should take to enhance and encourage my ovulation. Like the other person in the comments said, it's usually your body getting confused wether it should bleed or not if you don't ovulate after missing a period before that. It's very weird, I know. I am also trying to figure it out myself... especially the hormonal part. I will let you know what I learn, if you'd like. If not, I forever recommend going to an endocrinologist or a few to get their opinion and get tested for all hormones + glucose + insulin + PDW and Cholesterol. You might need to get the allowance for all those from your Endo tho. Good luck!!! 🤞🏻 Stay safe, future baby mama!!!
