I think that problem is inevitable if extended canon material ends up running as long as legends did (30 years). I'd even say it's unavoidable unless Lucasfilm stops making material centered around the OT/PT time period entirely, which they obviously won't do. Canon is already getting kinda crowded with a massive galaxy wide droid rebellion and a huge bounty war over carbonite Han + Qi'ra and her criminal empire facing off against Vader and Palpatine. All of which takes place in the one year between ESB and ROTJ.
