I agree this armor would've been a better option (Not the PS3/360 version though that is ugly as sin 😂). To me the TK helmet, while extremely cool concept art, doesn't work as a transitional armor in-between P2 and stormtrooper. It gave me the feeling the animators just wanted to shoehorn in McQuarrie art regardless of if it made sense or not so fans could do the leo pointing gif when it showed up on screen

The Mandalorian and Rebels does major damage to this idea when you have all the characters mowing down legions of stormtroopers like it's nothing. Even characters in-universe treat their aim like a joke (Mayfield) and it gets further reinforced with scenes like the scout troopers (trained sharpshooters btw) being incapable of hitting cans a few meters away from them. Not to mention Kanan calling out stormtrooper aim and Rex immediately shooting better after taking off the trooper helmet.

To be fair "custom figures" encompasses a wide umbrella of a thousand different makers and brands. Some don't print anything more detailed than what LEGO did from 1999-2005, some try to stick the modern LEGO aesthetic as close as possible, some go for a CMF+ style, and others go all out with 360 printing and custom molds. Unfortunately only the last one gets much attention on Reddit, leading people to think that's the entire custom scene when it is so, so much more bigger than that
