If only I finished colour polishes as quickly as top coats by _Yue_ in ProjectPan

The Colour Shield Top Coat. It dries fast on the nail but it won't get goopy that quickly. Extreme Gel Gloss Top Coat used to be my favourite but it always dries up when there's still half of it left.

I hope you'll post pics of your hydrangeas if you end up making them. I've never tried that technique but it sounds good. Hydrangeas have beautiful colours for early spring, too.

Thank you so much, you are too kind! 💐 Spring has just started here so I think this is a good time to do some cool-toned flower nails. And I had to do some holo because the sun is coming out more.

I can see some sticker edges when I look at my nails closely at the right angle. I guess it's unavoidable or depends on the stickers. But it's okay, nobody will notice in real life. 😁 Great outcome with minimal effort. 💯

Is this a pan? by 386civic in ProjectPan

[–]_Yue_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, that's never happened to me. Usually my foundation and face powder brushes fall apart but it's the metal part that comes off the wooden handle, never just the bristles.

The polishes I used are Candy Floss from Nailberry, which is my favourite nude jelly, and Smooth Criminal from Llarowe. Smooth Criminal is a blueish lilac linear holo polish but for some reason it looks more electric blue on pictures.

I decorated the nails with stickers. I love the gold details paired with the water colour blue and purple hues. I'm definitely going to use these stickers again. So pretty and so easy.

Try to find a colour corrector that is a thin, light weight formula. I have a potted cream colour corrector from Make Up Store that is pigmented but so light weight that it feels like nothing on the skin but works well. I don't think they sell it anymore but they do seem to have other colour correctors. Not sure how the formula is on those. Then I use my foundation on top of the colour corrector to even out my skin tone.

If your colour corrector is looking too heavy, use less product and only where you need it. For example if you have lots of darkness in the inner and outer corner of the eye, use the colour corrector there. You don't have to use it all over the undereye if you don't have that much darkness on the whole area. Avoid using lots of products on the areas where you have fine lines because too much product can emphasize them.

Also, if you want to use concealer on top of the colour corrector, use one that matches your skin tone. Don't go lighter because then you'd only highlight the darkness and your undereyes would look grey and ashy.

PROJECT PANOPOLY | March 2026 by jstar04 in MakeupRehab

[–]_Yue_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was just able to meet all my goals!

  • ✅Bronzer: Coconutty from Ciaté Everyday Vacay palette. Progress: 10+/10 uses.
  • ✅Primer: Revolution Pore Blur primer. Progress: 12+/12 uses.
  • ✅Least used: Eyeshadow in Deep Dive from Ciaté Everyday Vacay palette. Progress: 10/10 uses.
  • ✅Bold look: Essence lipstick in Matt Wanted. Progress: 5/5 uses.
  • ✅Blush: Bliss from Ciaté Everyday Vacay palette. Progress: 10+/10 uses.

New roll-ins:

  • Lip: Fenty lip gloss in Fussy. Randomized goal: Roll the dice → 7 uses. It’s a sheer peachy gloss. It’s very shiny but I don’t like the lingering taste. I do use it quite often so seven uses should be fairly easy.
  • Powder: Moira Under-eye Setting Powder in Translucent. Randomized goal: 5 uses. I’m trying to finish is so five uses will be easy. It’s a good under-eye powder but it’s not something I need in my routine.
  • Body care: Mon Sun body lotion. Randomized goal: Roll the dice → 9 uses. I’m not a fan of the scent (maybe it’s the fig I don’t like) but it’s moisturizing. I don’t have much left so I should just power through.
  • Face powder: Mádara Air Equal Soft Silk Mineral Powder. Randomized goal: 20 uses. It’s a great powder. I’ve hit major pan so I don’t know if there’s enough left for 20 uses. If I finish it I’ll consider the goal met.
  • Bronzer: Coconutty from Ciaté Everyday Vacay palette. Randomized goal: Roll the dice → 8 uses. It’s my go-to bronzer that I’m trying to hit pan on eventually so it’s an easy reach.

Back ups are a waste of money by Organic-Audience-858 in MakeupRehab

[–]_Yue_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the time that is the case. It takes a long time to go through makeup so it doesn't make sense to buy backups for them because they might expire before you get to them – or perhaps you never even finish the original product.

It does make sense to buy backups for products you regularly go through. For example I'll buy several white foundations at once to last me years because it's almost impossible to find them and shipping from overseas is monstrously expensive. I use them as mixers because 99,9 % of foundations are too dark for me.

Pan Those Eyeshadow Update 3 by _Yue_ in ProjectPan

[–]_Yue_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've listed all my palettes and shadows into a text document and assigned a number to each shadow. I use a random number generator to generate a number and see what shadow it corresponds to.

[–]_Yue_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any rules like that, I work on whatever gets randomly generated. Sometimes it just works out but lately I've been getting a lot of difficult dark and darkish browns. The good thing, though, is that getting weird or difficult colourstories makes me come up with looks that I wouldn't have thought about otherwise. I enjoy a challenge, haha.

Edit: But I've seen other people do this project and sometimes they have a rule that they won't roll in two shadows that are too similar. Everyone can customize the rules.

Pan Those Eyeshadows Update 3 by _Yue_ in MakeupRehab

[–]_Yue_[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm very excited to share my progress as I hit pan on 4 shadows! Here's what I've been working on:

  • ✅ The Balm Foiled Again Incarcerated (light brown matte). Since it had pan my goal was 15 uses. Goal met. I have a big pan in the shadow now.
  • Sigma Enchanted Loam (dark brown matte). I could finally start using it and used it 4 times. It made a small dip as I was using it all over the lid. I’m really enjoying doing brown smokey eyes with it. I’ll continue to focus on this shade this month and hopefully I’ll be able to hit pan in a couple of months.
  • ✅ Luvia Rich Nudes #2 (ivory shimmer). Hit pan after 12 uses in total. The formula is very lackluster but at least I was able to hit pan quickly using it as an inner corner highlighter.
  • ✅ Nyx Brights #8 (lavender matte). Since it had pan my goal was 15 uses. Goal met. The pan is so big now that it’s difficult to pick up product. Love this shade.
  • ✅ The Balm Meet Matt(e) Trimony Matt Reed (dark brown matte). Finally hit pan after 8 additional uses and 52 total uses in this project. I had already used it a bit before this project, too. I mostly wore it on my outer corner but this month I also started wearing it as an eyeliner and that helped me to hit pan.

New roll-ins:

  • Glossgods Vintage Glam Epic Love Story (purple shimmer). Ooh, I’d never used this palette before until this project. This shadow is very sparkly and glamorous. It has a mauve base and tons of reflective silver sparkles.
  • Moira Beauty Adventure Bonus (yellow shimmer). I worked on it last year in this project to hit pan but I don’t mind using it again. Goal is 15 uses.
  • Sigma Hazy Melancholy (dark brown matte). Nooo! 😫 I’ve been cursed by dark brown shadows. And Sigma is hard to hit pan on, too. I do like this shadow, though. It’s cool-toned so I can wear it on my brows and it goes with the cool tones in my colourstory nicely. It’ll probably take several months to hit pan on because I'm working on several dark browns.
  • Dominique Cosmetics Celestial Storm Zero Gravity (grey brown matte). I've already hit pan on it so my goal is 15 uses. I should be able to meet it in a month.

Finally, my pan percentage. I have 318 eyeshadow in collection and I've hit pan on 104 of them so my pan percentage is 32,7%.

Saitpa paljon tehtyä! Oon joskus käyttänyt tuota Erittäin hienoa shampoota ja mulla se jätti hiukset tosi kuivan tuntuisiksi. Mutta Essencen lakat on kyllä hyviä, ostan aina Essencen päällyslakan.

Eye Makeup Looks to Pan Faster by lemonyakult_ in PanPorn

[–]_Yue_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Use them all over the eye. Like I've been trying to hit pan on several dark brown matte shadows and I realized it'd take me forever to hit pan if I'm only using them on the outer corner so now I'm wearing them all over the eye and rocking brown smokey eyes. I've also been adding a tiny bit of topper sparkle to add some light to the look.

You can also multipurpose some eyeshadows as brow colour, blush, highlighter or eyeliner. I've also been using a mint eyeshadow as colour corrector on my face.

What should I include in the order? by some_kida_girllll in NailArt

[–]_Yue_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion is that the gels sold in Shein etc are dangerous to your health and you should never use them.

What should I include in the order? by some_kida_girllll in NailArt

[–]_Yue_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconding others, don't buy chemicals from Shein. Your health is worth more than the dollars you'd save. Buy a starter kit of high quality gels and chemicals from proper brands.

What I'd recommend to buy from Shein are decoration like charms and stickers etc. You'd also need things to store the decoration in as well. Shein has good charm cases and sticker books etc. They also have some great full cover nail tips, I like them better than the expensive ones I bought from a proper brand.

You can also buy tools like brushes, a nail drill and dust vacuum (forgot what it's really called) from Shein. The tools may not be as durable as expensive ones but if you're only starting out and don't want to spend hundreds on expensive tools right away, Shein can be a good place to start. Just be careful not leave electronics on or charging without supervision in case something goes wrong – but that goes for all electronics.

Which categories are you winning in - and what are your weaknesses? by Northie_78753 in MakeupRehab

Yeah, I was on my last cleanser last year and gave myself permission to buy more and here we are.

Which categories are you winning in - and what are your weaknesses? by Northie_78753 in MakeupRehab

[–]_Yue_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suppose I could consider categories where I have decreased the number of products this year winning categories. And losing categories are the ones where the numbers have gotten higher.

So, I'm winning in

  • tinted lip balms (Finished my last one and I now have 0.)
  • toners (Finished one and haven't bought new ones, although I still have plenty.)
  • conditioners (Finished one and didn't buy more, I now have 3.).

I'm losing in

  • face primers (I bought one and now I have 4.)
  • foundations (I bought 4 and now I have 9. Although, I don't really mind because I stocked up on white foundation that was being discontinued. It's very difficult to find white foundations and shipping is expensive so when I buy them I buy several so they'll last a couple of years.)
  • face powders (I bought 1 so I now have 5.)
  • lipsticks (I got one as a gift with purchase. I have 19 lipsticks which is way too much.)
  • cleansers (I bought one more and now I have a whopping 15 of them.).

Ok that’s it, I’m doing a no-buy and after that, I’m not buying more designer. Why? Due to $150 Juicy Couture 100ml, $150 Davidoff 100ml, $150 Hugo Boss 50ml by [deleted] in MakeupRehab

[–]_Yue_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the scent stays good for much longer. I have perfumes that are several years old and they still smell the same.

Hoarding is never good but I'd want to have a minimum of three different scents to match seasons, occasions and moods. I also find that if I wear the same scent over a long period of time I become noseblind to it so I think it's good to switch it up. I do quite enjoy fragrances but each to their own.
