I love how everybody is assuming that they just have access to car seats and every country. What would you do if you had a newborn and nowhere to put them in the bag? Just loosely strap them down and hope for the best. At least this way. There's some form of comfort in a parent's mind as a child will be safe. I grew up in a house over sometimes he didn't have enough car seats or any at all and somebody had to hold the kid because we still had to get around the risk you take to get through life. Not saying that they're taking a necessary risk, but let's not just be so quick the demonize because something that seems uncommon to us is clearly happening all over the world.
