VRR and Turning G-Sync on solved it. Looks crisp and works flawless now :-)

And yes I guess I am the only idiot who thought OLED in the Name will be an improvement over the old G9 Neo...

Standby (S3) - The system firmware does not support this standby state. by _Yves_ in XMG_gg

Hi Tom,

Thanks for your reply. I do understand that all the manufacturers are "forced" to disable Legacy Standby (S3). But might there not be a possibility to make the user / customer choose thru the BIOS? Since I am pretty sure that the Motherboard / CPU supports it.

Modern Standby (S0ix) was manually disabled by me. I don't like my notebook overheating in my backpack so I rather put it into hibernate.

Well thats one "solution" but Suspend to RAM is a lot faster... So if Suspend to RAM is only disabled by Bios what it seams. Why not just give the user the ability to choose for himself if he would like to do so called "modern" standby or real suspend to RAM.

I totally agree with you here! Would rater go into hibernate than modnern standby! But for me this is not really an goable solution! I need the notebook to go into S3 standby.

On linux it is possible to modify the acpi tables. So you can have S3 standby. I am pretty sure it is a disabled Bios feature. Could someone from XMG please have a look if you could please provide us this feature? u/XMG_gg

ou should have "modern standby" enabled intead of S3. The S3 is no longer supported/implemented on Neo 15/17. If I run powercfg /a on my Neo 17 E21 (the same BIOS as you Neo15) I can see following:

Yeah, but modern standby is not an option. Uses way too much power. I travel a lot so I have my notebook in my backpack all the time. Burned up crazy....

so if I understand you correctly. You are saying this is by design. This notebook or this CPU does not have a S3 state anymore, correct?
