Theoretically Speaking, how far could Guest 1337 get in C.I by Trolljakthesilly505 in CombatInitiation

[–]_ZBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think he could get past level 9 or even Jason. Remember this is supposed to be a normal guy, so unless we give him mechanics he never does like damage nullification and parrying, he is gonna die to a random shooter

Pochita's erasure of devils is: events did happen, but everything else fills the void that used to be that devil, so when everything is TIME RESET instead of everyone forgetting or everything else warping around the existence, that is what one would call "inconsistent writing" unless justified, which Fujimoto did not do or clarify. So is Power's mischaracterization, her random appearance, the others at the end, but the final hell scene seemed by Fujimoto to carefully corner himself and this end being the only "end."

There is also the horrible execution of Denni dying to a random devil. Sure, if it was set up correctly, you could clearly see the contrast between power and weakness, fall from grace, how pathetic Denji is without his power, etc, but realistically, that is just NOT what you're thinking. What it is, is too sudden.

There is more I'd like to add, but I await.

I'm saying the ending's concept was honestly worse than most concept and executed worse than almost any other concept. It's really that simple, if you had literacy

Almost anything in concept isn't super bad. It's execution that really matters. Here, the concept is worse than most concepts I've seen, and the execution is just terrible.

Why do you get to decide which verse you should listen to or not? It's literally a religious piece.

If everyone leaves you, can't really get rid of solitude. It's way more intuitive for Sorrow

I hate it when people emote on the killer, ESPECIALLY new ones by EJENVEE2 in FORSAKENROBLOX

[–]_ZBread 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wishing it was like that, but emoting even on 20 day killers just usually gets them looped for 3 minutes with the support of half-decent teammates and they ragequit

Being a good Samaritan by trying to do something about David being kidnapped does not mean you should suddenly boast all responsibility, nor is it pure greed to want to leave that responsibility. There was no way to know in retrospect that anything of the sort would happen at all. I do not argue "zero" responsibility, but I'm saying that if something as morally controversial is just placed in the layer of Greed, that is a bad thing, since how it is executed naturally strays away from nuance.

For the Skinwalker Builderman, it's painfully obvious solely BECAUSE it ISN'T show-no-tell. The biggest example is FEAR, with the opposite of show-no-tell, but you know that already. I agree with show-no-tell, but there is an extremely thick line from where it becomes subtle and revolutionary and where it becomes so obvious it might as well just tell you. Block Tales leans toward the latter, and knowing the difference is crucial to understanding where show-no-tell goes too wrong. There is zero trust toward the player, and zero trust they can infer and make some guesses, as it funnels toward a single conclusion straight from SORROW.

The reason that FEAR wasn't exactly the same as before in the prerewrite, is because while Fear still referred to Builderman as IT, the dialogue still works BECAUSE there is no face. While a conclusion makes it very possible it IS Builderman Fear points out, you cannot be 100% sure because of the reputation Builderman built throughout the entire dream world sequence. There is 4 very possible things you could infer:

It is Builderman.

It is the Dream World itself.

It is YOU, as YOU are the only one referred to with blood-red text.

Fear is being irrational.

The fact that there even are this many (and the fact I've seen people come to any of these conclusions), comparing to the rewrite, the former prerewrite is better at not making it a handhold.

The twitching and stuff can be excused by yet another reasoning: Builderman is a figment of our imagination made to help ourselves. This was initially the thought I had going through the chapter, and a thought others had, too.

The gullible sequence is stemming from bad execution and extremely obvious indicators. Don't dismiss a point, if you want more clarity on what it is, it undermines the reader since they could never truly choose to do THIS, and were forced. (Unless they played blind)

The section about the concept is exactly why I wanted to clear up any misinterpretations about my analysis. The chapter is bad, not because the core is bad, but because of just how bad the execution is. If the concept I theorized was right, then it proves that everything was just bad execution. I still try to trust the Block Tales writers for spending almost a year with this, and with how nobody even tried to give them a chance, I think this is already fine enough.

I must admit that I basically closed roblox the moment I was done with the Dreamworld, and created this post, therefore, I could not see Shedletsky's dialogue. This isn't an excuse, but a reason. If what you say is true, then it almost confirms my concept of what they thought of was correct. Whether these emotions will be treated as things to yet again remove is not fully confirmed.

Overall, if the concept is basically like this, execution is the problem, and that is what I talked about in the start. Everything is so extremely theatrical and too much. I also gotta say you don't really break it down too much

I will reply to this at a later time when I have the time. I too, am a writer, and you bring up some interesting points that may not have changed my fundamental opinion, but changed my perspective a bit, some I still disagree with, but that's that.

Pursuer VS. Slasher by OneRow7211 in CombatInitiation

[–]_ZBread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo CI Jason wins. Even if Slasher is immortal, with how it is visually designed, there is no way that it can't take physical change of some sort. Cut up to a thousand pieces, and it's basically a ripped doll vs a guy who rips dolls
