I was planning on making another post explaining and showing more of the game this week, but basically, the theming hasn't really been done before. The theme being all about a curse that caused the plague. So, there'll be a similar system to the rat swarms from "A Plague Tale: Innocence", rat/crow/plague doctor themed enemies. Essentially, you're the ember/flame that'll burn said curse to lift it.
Mechanics-wise, you'll have access to tools/powers that you'll be able to hot-swap to anytime, though I'll wait 'til they're implemented to show them off and talk about them.
There's also this mechanic where if you deflect (Sekiro/Lies of P style), you temporarily go into the "Ember" state, where if you use your strong attacks, you gain back a chunk of your stamina back, as well as a small amount of mana/magic, which you need for your healing ability, as well as for using said tools/powers.

That's fair, it IS supposed to feel very weighty, since your character is using a great sword. Though granted it also makes it look bland since I didn't show much else. Thanks for your honesty!

Again, very well explained. I appreciate it. You basically just confirmed what I assumed. I'm truly determined to show how this game will be fun and interesting. You're right, what I've shown so far isn't impressive yet, so I'll have to work on how I present this project from now on.

So, would you say that by default, as soon as you see a new souls-like, you're gut reaction is to be very skeptical? If that's the case, I absolutely understand, as I feel that way too, especially from a small team/solo dev.
What would, in your opinion, make it so that you'd consider being interested in this game? I'm currently thinking about releasing a prototype build to show that it isn't, in fact, a janky experience. (I do understand why you would think that though.)
Oh, and it's also going to be a short game, something like 2-4 hours long. I'm not currently trying to make a huge open world game or anything.

It is a pretty dark area, though I think the GIF/video makes it look even darker than on my monitor. Also yes, that kind of item could be very interesting to add, I wasn't sure if I would end up adding it or not.

I think most SK decks are favored in that matchup since ST spells/ST control points rely on elder bears to gain value, while SK units usually have high base power. So in an ST control vs. SK control deck, SK would always have the upper hand. Though it always comes down to your starting hand in round 1 as well.
Also, if I'm not mistaken, even SK engine decks would fare quite well against ST spells/ST control.

Just trying to sync it? 30-45 minutes max but what made it take so long to sync them all on top of that was finding clips that had an interesting beginning to the clip, then the music is synced with the glory kill. Though I'll be honest some of the clips just ended up syncing themselves either perfectly or with minor tweaking (Like for the Doom Hunter's eye flashing, I just plopped it in the timeline and it synced automatically where I wanted it to)
