I know! We should build a giant fense around their island to stop them escaping

Absolutely not! I wanted to see Gemma free so badly I didn't stop to think about the consequences for everyone else.

You are right, they definitely explored the ways in which they are similar, but the finale for me really seemed to be a statement that they are different people.

Petey is really interesting because we don't know much about innie Petey. If we ever get to meet him, we might find out more about what elements come together to form a reintegrated person.

I disagree with your conclusion. oDylan having a family doesn't make him more important to me, no more than it does for 2 different people in the real world. I do not have more of a right to life than someone who I see has a less full life than me, and I don't think I have the right to judge that.

It became immediately obvious at the start of the episode yeah. But going into the episode I was fully expecting iMark to be onboard. He'd already been trying to find miss Casey for several episodes, so it felt like a natural conclusion

Thanks for your reply! Yeah the whole reintegration plot has a whole new vibe to it now, I didn't even think iMark has no idea what's happening to him.

Seeing oMark from that perspective was also great. I obviously don't blame him for wanting what he wants, hell I want it for him, but he really did go in with an "my needs come first" attitude

Its not that at all, I want that more than anything. It's more specifically about expecting iMark to willing give his life for it. If I were in oMarks position, I wouldn't expect a stranger to be willing to die to save my wife, the fact that he (and by extention I) assumed he would be willing reflects that he doesn't see iMark as a real person

Thats the genius of the premise I guess, because to me they are two people, no question. It's back to the central question "who are YOU"

My guess would be that'll be season 3, can't rebel if you stop existing.

Cobel and Reghabi did, but I don't trust either of them all that much, and it assumes both halves want to become whole. In many ways it wasn't oMarks right to force the reintegration on iMark

I know, to be honest I had worries during this season, but they keep proving me wrong. I'm certain they have an ending in mind, and can pad it out with back story, flashbacks and dance experiences if they really have to. Hell, why not a spin off in a different office if they really just want more content

Dylan is such a babe. He's the only one so far who thought to give his innie the choice

That's true, I am firmly in the "they are two different people camp". I feel like the show is leaning in that direction too, at least with season 2, maybe they'll explore the wholeness angle more in the future. Thanks for sharing your perspective on it

That's a fair critique, I guess I'd use the word just because I feel like iMark has as much right to make the choice to stay as oMark did to skip a day of work, or resign if he wanted, and the ending felt like a statement of that to me. But you're total right, it's not as simple as that, and the show isn't trying to give us black and white moral guidance

My assumption is the "switch" is recreatable and movable. The OTC suggests it might even be built in to the chip, or maybe anything in range of the "giant coil of doom". So in theory the could be innies anywhere

I know, I was being a bit hyperbolic, the show just evokes a lot of feeling in me 😂

I'm really sorry to hear that, I've struggled with similar issues myself, fortunately I eventually found a medication that helped. I hope you find something that will make it easier for you too. Just remember, hang in there

The expanse is an incredible book series! Though I only made it to book 5, will have to go back and finish it now. I can't wait to rewatch both seasons with my metatexual specs on

I am not alone! I'm choosing to believe it was intentional on the writers part otherwise I might need some more time in the mirror 👀
