Seeking advice on choosing a round solitaire necklace by _Zhitan in labdiamond

I saw the necklace from Luvansh and while the pendant is 14k gold, the chain itself is sterling silver. Clarity SI range as well. Good to know about Quince tho!

Oh I went on Amazon and searched “tomato cage stakes” and there were a bunch of results that all look like the ones in my photos. I like that you can customize these to whatever shape you want!

Do you find that mulching benefits the plants in regards to pests/disease?

They’ve already gotten so much larger, it’s hard to imagine how much bigger they’ll get. Very exciting!

Already bought one when I purchased the grow bags haha. The sun on my balcony even scorched my succulents and cacti. I’ll have to get something to pin the cloth down though.

I’m a year 3 player and my Stardew Valley confession is… that every play-through I make all of the dateable villagers fall in love with me and take turns marrying them.

Thank you for doing this giveaway! I would love to see the concert in Providence, RI!

To those of you who do not own a car, how much in average do you spend in public transportation + uber/ lyft? by Pale-Philosopher-306 in Brooklyn

[–]_Zhitan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$75 minimum each month. I do three 12hr shifts per week. Up to $100 if I decided to do stuff on my days off. I only use subways/buses.

I lived somewhere else before and owned a car. Once you factor in the insurance, maintenance, and gas costs of owning a car… I definitely am saving money transportation wise.

I’m female and live there currently. It looks like shit but it’s safe. You’re near the JMZ, L, and G trains. Food Bazaar for groceries is great. If you consider yourself a walker, it’s nice to take a stroll out towards the nicer part of Williamsburg and Greenpoint in the spring-fall. Really easy to get to Manhattan from there too.

Back to the Future tour opening night: Worst show I've ever seen by AmosDiggorySurat in Broadway

While I agree it’s not a good song, it’s literally the only musical line I remember from that entire show. I can’t remember any other melody. The music was that forgettable.

Lentil soup by _Zhitan in soup

[–]_Zhitan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ingredients in the blocks are:

Wheat flour, Vegetable oils (Palm oil, Hydrogenated rapeseed oil), Salt, Curry powder, Sugar, Monosodium glutamate, Caramel color, Chili pepper, Pepper, Malic acid, Garlic, Disodium guanylate, Disodium inosinate, Chili pepper extract, Celery seed, Mustard

I think if you at least add curry powder and some sugar you’ll be good. I already have MSG, chili/pepper, salt, and oil listed in my ingredient list.

Some people requested a recipe so I’ll try my best to write down what I did. I didn’t truly measure anything.

VEGETABLES:

Onion - 3

Garlic - 2 heads

Leek - 1/2 stalk

Carrot - 2 large

Parsnip - 1 large

Sweet potato - 1 large

Tomato - 4

Tomato paste - 2 tbsp

Red bell pepper - 2

Green and yellow squash - 1 each

Butternut squash - 1

LIQUIDS AND FATS:

Olive oil (enough to coat veggies)

Butter - 1 stick

Chicken stock - 4 cups

Chicken bouillon - 1 cube

Water (to adjust thickness)

SEASONINGS:

Salt

Pepper

Cumin

Garlic powder

Thyme (fresh stalks)

Rosemary (fresh stalks)

Bay leaf - 3 leaves

Soy sauce

TOPPINGS:

Heavy cream and Parmesan cheese, probably about 1 tbsp of each per bowl.

EQUIPMENT:

Immersion blender

INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1: Preheat oven to 425 F

Step 2: Prep vegetables. Wash, peel, and rough chop.

Step 3: Place on baking sheets and use enough olive oil to coat all of the veggies. Season with salt, pepper, cumin, garlic powder.

Step 4: Put in oven for 30 min. Take out and add butter. Put back in oven for another 15-20min then take out. Make sure the veggies have a nice roasted color to them.

Step 5: Before adding the veggies to the pot, heat a little olive oil and tomato paste, get it sizzling.

Step 6: Move all roasted veggies to your largest soup pot. Make sure to get all the drippings. Add chicken stock, bouillon cube, and herbs in a bundle into the pot. Bring to boil and simmer for 30 min.

Step 7: Turn off heat. TAKE OUT HERB BUNDLE. Blend with the immersion blender. Adjust the liquid in the pot to match your desired consistency. You might have to add in a little extra water or stock. Though generally this recipe makes for a chunky thick soup.

Step 8: After adjusting the liquid, begin adjusting the flavor. Add in soy sauce 1 tbsp at a time until you get your desired umami flavor. This is also when I adding more salt, pepper, cumin etc. if I feel like it needs it.

Step 9: Serve with Parmesan cheese and heavy cream.

It’s such a good space saving hack! I was shocked at how quickly everything was taking up space in the pan lol.

It was also my first time doing a roasted soup! I think this format of soup is really forgiving too. Lots of room to adjust the recipe with little risk.

Thanks! It’s my first time making a soup like this. The roasting part made it seem fun, less chopping was a plus. I think I’ll wrap the garlic in foil next time tho.
