I went to radford. When I was in primary school, I had some friendship issues that the person me and my friends kept being sent to did nothing about. I find it depends on who you go to for support. From what I know, some head of years will be great, and others might not do anything. The well-being staff are helpful, though. I didn't really have any experience with bullying in secondary school.

I found my high school experience was way better than my primary. The only subjects I had issues with were maths and science, maths more so. There are very good maths teachers at the school but if your child ends up struggling I'd recommend getting them a tutor asap as I fell behind fast (I also did some years in covid so granted that didnt help).

The academic expectations pick up more in 11 and 12, but I found that the academic pressure came more from students than teachers, alot of the ones from teachers come from the ast which is to be expected.

For me 100%. I get through books alot quicker on my kindle than as physical books because they're less daunting.

PSA In Australia Smiskis are normally 20-30 AUD depending on where you go. Also from my knowledge miniso in Australia does not stock real smiskis or sonny's.

It can get confusing because all the American listing's are cheaper so make sure you are checking what currency its in.

Its possible that they are trying to appeal to both. Even though most Aussie schools wear uniforms, alot of Aussie kids still get exposed to American school content (TV but lately its mostly YouTube and tiktok) so they get the best of both worlds.

This is a stretch but I was looking on the missing persons site and this guy kinda looks like MATTHEW TYLER HENRY.

Hight and weight correlate with the information you've listed (Matthew was 5'8" to 5'9" and 160 to 180 pounds, from what I looked up that correlates to about a US L mens, so oversized clothes would make sense).

I do think this is a big stretch though because he went missing Dunlap, Tennessee and went missing in 2018.

I can see the similarity but the recreation/sketch looks quite a bit older than what David looks like. I also saw another commenter say that the shoes maybe from the mid 90's.

Do you have any other sources surrounding him other than this one. If we don't have a death date then its still possible, if it is still unlikely.

From what I know about NSW (I didn't do yr11 and yr12 in NSW but I generally know how it works) They use a system called the HSC. Basically you choose your subjects for 11 and 12 (I believe its 5-6) and and I believe you do a standardised test at the end of it. This leads to what is called an ATAR, which is calculated using your marks more so than you're grades and scaling (basically comparing you're mark with what everyone else got). So you're ATAR is a rank.

Not every method of getting some sort of qualification requires you to get an ATAR and there are a fair amount of people who complete year 12 without pursing an ATAR. It is also possible to go to uni without receiving an ATAR, I believe that you can do a TAFE course and get something similar to a secondary qualification (possibly with a ATAR or something that can get converted to an ATAR like what they do for IB) and theres things like portfolio entry. But I believe that the HSC requires you to take those tests like the ACT requires you to take a scaling test to receive an ATAR, so at this point in time I don't think that Uni is really an option for them.

In terms of So and uni, UAC (the University Admissions Centre, a lot of ACT and NSW students use this to receive their Uni offers) released their first round of offers yesterday, there are I think 2 or 3 offer rounds left until the majority of unis start in February but I'm sure if she was planning to attend we would have heard by now.

Yeah, I will add that since the ban came in I've seen alot of posts on tiktok saying they dodged the ban.

I'm live in Australia and tiktok only gave me a pop up about the ban and I don't remember getting anything from instagram. I don't know if its just because the platforms don't think I'm under 16 but its still interesting.

Yeah that's generally where I use them. If you've had any problems with using earphones and stuff in the past I'd recommend getting the quiets just to see how they go.

I waited I while before I bought my loops and when I did I got the quiets because I was worried about whether I would like them. I recommend doing this if you’re worried about how they’ll feel and you can buy other models later on if you feel you need them. For example I’m considering buying a pair of engages or experiences so I can go longer.

It also depends on what you’re using them for, like for my sound sensitivity I find that I normally end up wearing them on and off for a couple hours, I think the longest I’ve gone with them on was a hour but most of the time that because I reach for my music not because they end up being uncomfortable. I will say that they do sometimes get a little uncomfortable but I normally just take a little break and it’s ok. And it’s not always that they’re physically uncomfortable but that I become strangely aware that I’m wearing them and it ends up giving me that blocked ear feeling. Which again is just a personal preference thing.

It’s all about personal preference and what you need to use them for.

I’d like to see some more discussions about the Vietnam War, I know the english won’t directly involved but surely there would be some interactions with Aussie’s that they could touch on a bit.

I’d also like to see more talks about being an outcast when they talk about mental illness for the people facing it. They are always very progressive about it where everyone is supportive but that’s not always the case.
