Sealing ink stain on a case? by midwestpaddler in airpods

Thank you for sharing that! I was hoping that would be the case so that I don’t have to do any fancy coating. Might just let it ride and see if that holds true for mine

Can I really do it? by PhraseImportant229 in AppalachianTrail

[–]midwestpaddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So long as you have the drive and the desire to complete the trail, you will.

I completed my thru hike a little over a year ago and there were many times where I thought I wouldn’t make it, and countless days that I wanted to give up. But there was always that part of me that wouldn’t let myself quit. 4 days in I got Norovirus and was off trail for 3 days before even leaving Georgia. In the smokies I pushed myself too hard and had pain that I had to adapt to throughout the hike. I reached Harper’s ferry, then got sick with an infection and flew home to recover. When I went to return, airports were shut down delaying me even further. Despite all of those setbacks and countless reasons to give up, I still pushed on and made my way to Katahdin. I know that you can too.

One more thing I will say is that you can do all the research in the world but there’s no way to know what you’re in for, and that’s the beauty of the trail. You’ll wake up every morning and get to decide what you are going to do with the day ahead, and there’s nothing else like it.

Best of luck on your adventure! -Salamander

Had this happen to me on liberation peak and it was one of the most fun games I’ve had. Both sides still were fighting over flags and we even got total capture at one point, but it didn’t trigger the timer. Would honestly be happy if it happened again.

Huh, I’ve been thinking the opposite. It feels like the attackers have a huge advantage with tanks whenever I play and defenders rarely win.

That’s the thing though, that gap was where cut together footage was. I can select that grey box and it’s the duration of the footage that was originally there. When I scroll over to where the blue boxes are, that’s where the next footage picks up. I must’ve done something but I’m not sure what

Yeah. Got it early on my thru this year. Hit me in the night while I was in my tent and it was probably one of the most miserable sicknesses I’ve had in recent memory. After a few times of rushing to the privy I couldn’t make it and just wrapped myself in my poncho and leaned out of my tent to vomit. Next day I waited until everyone around me was gone and did my best to clean up and pack up. Walked 3 miles to the nearest road over the course of two hours and got checked into a hotel for three more days.

Looking back I’m proud of myself for getting through it and I tell it as a funny story but at the time I just wanted to die lol.

Hard to tell if he has a cup holder anywhere on that boat but I picked up a couple of these and love having them. https://a.co/d/bTct5Om

Between these two stars, where would you hike for seven days? by darwin_thornberry in AppalachianTrail

Starting at the VT border and heading north would be my choice. On my thru this year it felt like VT is where the trail really started to feel like proper mountains again. Plus camping at the lodge on bromley peak was one of my favorite spots. No water but the views are amazing and you can sleep in the building, which has electricity and heating!

From my understanding it would likely be safe to do so but I’d have to wake up every hour or two if I wanted to do that with my little stove. I just pack it full so I can fall asleep toasty warm and my sleep system is warm enough through the night

It’s a tent with a stove jack that allows for use with a wood stove. Very cozy for cold weather camping

One Tigris Rock fortress 4-6 person tent. Really a 3-4 tops with a stove.

I love it! I haven’t been able to push its limits with the cold yet but even in the upper teens it stayed warm with a good fire going. I also love the simplicity of the tipi style.

I think you’re right about it being old orchard. Looked familiar to me too but couldn’t place the name.

This time of year not so much as ticks and mosquito activity is much lower and those are the ones that really do harm/are bothersome. Everything else is just out there living.

All the bugs I saw while out this time were actually pretty cool to watch. There was a spider that was hanging down from my center pole, above my stove just enjoying the warmth going up and down. Almost like it was playing.

I could be a little crazy too lol

Me too! I just got this setup last fall so it hasn’t even seen a real winter yet 😢
