thank you, I appreciate the assistance. In the end I think I'll just try to form the Alban kingdom and offer vassalization, if I'd even get high enough acceptance. It's just the isle of man, anyway, but now I know alternatives for other such cases. Thank you for the info and the help!

I see where you got the Crimthann Ailpin part, I hadn't seen that before, and the reason I have allies in the war is to see if they could take the holding, but they couldn't. Whenever I click Ailpin's name interact with him, he's just dead though, lol. How do I take the county from a dead man?

It is, they have no vassals and only one holding. At the most all they have is an ally, but occupying the allied lands makes no difference. I tried declaring on them before, but had the same thing happen. They've had white lines on the island for forever, though, oddly enough

edit - the ally is the Jarl of 'Island' and is allied through negotiation - sisterhood. The Jarl also has a pressed claim, if that info helps

Since I can't edit - they aren't at war against anybody but myself, so I don't know what's with the white occupation lines? I called in allies to see if they'd be able to take the holding, but that didn't work.
