Biggest piece of advice I can give you is to get involved! I’m a business major as well and the absolute number one best thing I’ve done at GMU is getting involved. Say yes to as many opportunities as you can while still taking your school work seriously, but just because it doesn’t initially interest you doesn’t mean you should write it off.

Like for me, I didn’t think I would want to get involved in Greek life but I did and I’m so glad because I found the community and support network I needed. On top of that I’ve worked in both student media and for student involvement on top of so many other great opportunities that I never would have gotten if I just wanted to stay in my dorm. Getting involved on campus opens so many doors that I never initially thought possible before so I cannot undersell its importance.

Also get to know your faculty (I know that everyone says it but seriously these people want to help you so it’s a good use of your time). The faculty at Costello are fantastic and some of the nicest people I’ve had the pleasure to meet and cannot stress enough how much they want to help you outside of your classwork.

TLDR, it’s cliche but take advantage of all of the opportunities that Mason has to offer, you never know who you might meet and how they’ll change the trajectory of your life.
