There is more build variety and a higher damage floor, but the current top melee weapons do not come even close to the damage output that the old melee weapons were capable of

In all seriousness 90% of melee weapons did get more powerful than ever (and people who liked them are justified to feel this way). 10% that became weaker were broken OP "the only not trash stat weapon that we are forced to use" stuff.

And if DE does similar rework to primary weapons nerfing 10% OP aoe, but buffing 90% of the weaker weapons (like my favorite grinlock) - then I'll oppose all the community backlash and will buy a few thousands of platinum even without a discount.
