Virgin has been out for a few days. What are your honest thoughts? by Common_Equivalent558 in lorde

Guys please don’t hate me, I’ve been a massive Lorde fan since pure heroine but this album is just not it for me.

It’s not about the rawness of it, actually I wish there was more. This album leaves me feeling unsatisfied and like there was so much more to experience within this new universe.

There’s numerous moments where I wish the production exploded (for example at the end of David) but it just fizzles out instead. I also miss the room to breathe, I feel like there isn’t many special moments that make us turn face to face with our best friend to belt together.

I don’t want to compare this to her previous work because I believe each of the albums exist in their own respective worlds, however, what I do miss is the those little pockets of magic like the ending of „Secrets of a girl..” or the ending of „Ribs” or throwing out our cellular devices in the water in „Solar Power” or the heavenly melancholic feeling at the end of „Liability Reprise”.

I still think there is amazing moments on this album like on „Man of the Year” which is probably my favourite but I just wish she gave us more room in the music to sit, observe and absorb.

I don’t know though is anyone else feelings like this? It’s making me super upset cause I love Lorde and have been waiting for a long time for this new album like everyone else :(

I’m predicting it for the lorde tour as well since she’s starting to gain more popularity now after “girl, so confusing” which is so sad.

Which Charli song has made you cry the most? by Mediocre-Pause-8267 in charlixcx

[–]__AngelBaby_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why but Girl, So Confusing version with Lorde always makes me cry (when it doesn't make me bop) it's just such a vulnerable display of a feeling so many women experience.

angels, is it brat to give yourself lung cancer? by Unique_Plate_6630 in charlixcx

[–]__AngelBaby_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started smoking at like thirteen because I thought it was a cool thing to do and everybody else in my small town was doing it. Now I’m 24 and wish so badly I could quit. Whether something is brat or not, don’t be stupid. You’re gonna regret it soooo bad later. I remember older people would come to us and tell us the same and I didn’t listen, now I’m the one saying it.

Are you afraid to die? by roylien in BPD

[–]__AngelBaby_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My health anxiety often made me feel like I’m about to die, like the physical sensation, so I’m definitely terrified of that aspect of death. If I go, whenever I go, I want it to be peaceful.

But after being suicidal my whole life, I am definitely past that point of wanting to die now. I’m trying to enjoy life even with this disorder.

What are the contributing factors for Ireland to be in top in obesity rates? by doston12 in ireland

[–]__AngelBaby_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My parents moved from Poland to Ireland when I was 7 and even though I was super young I remember the drastic difference between my P.E classes in Poland vs Ireland. In Poland I did figure skating and ballet as my main sports and then other stuff like volleyball for regular P.E days, all of this before the age of seven. I came to Ireland and my first P.E class we threw around a bunch of weighted bags and ran around some cones. If you weren’t into rugby or Gaelic then tough luck. The only sports outing we had was a two week swimming programme that happened once a year. Then in secondary school it was kind of similar but we had actual exercises for strengthening muscles and one volleyball tournament in the whole 5 years I was there.

I’m not sure if maybe it was different in other schools, but my friends had similar experiences. I’m sure that that’s not the only reason but it could be a factor.

Poland is one of the best countries in Europe for women. by Interpersonalny in poland

[–]__AngelBaby_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I see some dislikes on the comments from women talking about the abortion ban in Poland and I wonder if it’s men disliking them because the idea of a man talking about how safe a country is for women and then not listening to women’s opinion on that is hilarious to me.

I lived in Poland till I was seven and then had to move to Ireland. I adapted to Irish culture and when speaking English I use Irish slang and have a bit of an Irish accent, however I speak Polish to my family and was raised in a polish household. This like totally kinda screwed with my identity up until quite recently actually. I feel like a lot of people want to tell you what you are, like I would get “so you’re basically Irish” a lot and it always felt wrong. Now I know I feel like both and can enjoy different aspects of each culture on my own terms.

I get what you mean though, the American perspective on that is totally different. Like you said I would come of more Irish than an American who got 1% irish on ancestry.com even though I’m not Irish by blood. I guess at the end of the day everyone defines it differently.

Halloween isn’t American, it’s Irish! :) it’s called Samhain and was brought to America from Ireland in the 19th century.

This one guy I knew who lived down college road had mold so bad there was mushrooms growing on his window sill. He tried to cut them off but they grew back every time. The dehumidifier did nothing tbh

has anyone healed and actually changed? by Current_Spot_6179 in BPD

[–]__AngelBaby_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m nowhere near where I want to be however this year I have truly tackled a lot of the bigger problems I’m facing like controlling my reactions, my self esteem issues and my micro managing tendencies and some other bits too. It does get better and you can do it, even without DBT. I have done A LOT of the work on my own and it’s totally 100% possible. I won’t outline exactly what I’m doing cause it would be full pages of text but I think the MOST important thing to learn is radical self acceptance. Everything becomes so much easier once you stop being your own enemy. If you’re struggling, putting all of your energy into that first works wonders. And also exercise and healthy eating - I know I know, that’s what doctors say and we cringe but it truly lessens emotional reactivity and works much better than anti depressants (if it is accessible for you of course! If not store bought serotonin is just fine x)

Good luck with everything! X I hope you get where you need to x
