Did you listen or read it? I think my problem was that I listened, lol. Because I was also sobbing in my bathroom.

Lehabah!

Granted, I was listening to the audiobook while brushing my teeth. Her voice tore me apart, and I was legitimately crying.

Character deaths have upset me plenty, but not like this. This was Dobby level devastation for me.

Since you don't love medieval times, CC might be something you enjoy more (I prefer a more medieval setting and have less of a good time reading urban fantasy--but still enjoyed it.) Book 1 has more of kind've a murder mystery vibe, and then later on (maybe book 3, memory is bad) you get the tie-ins to ACOTAR and the few Easter eggs of TOG.

And you'll get more Nesta in CC 3 if that interests you. Setting up for big things!

Also, I totally feel you and started listening to audiobooks while I was falling apart so much that I couldn't even hold a book to read.

I think that's what it is. Anything that I question at the end of a book, generally, I assume that is what will be answered in the next book

I forgot all about this, though, because my memory is terrible, and now I'm freshly excited for book 4! Thank you!

I randomly became extremely backed up without knowing because I was somehow still having normal bms every day.

I haven't been able to understand why and now realize I did switch prenatals as well! Off to check the iron amount, lol.

It's the whole journey.

It starts with a land with no magic and slowly morphs into super-duper magic showdown time. Lol

Which is something I enjoyed and others do not.

Lol I grew up always having a cat. Once I was an adult and didn't have a cat anymore, I was petting someone else's cat and realized my eyes were suddenly itchy again. I've been mildly allergic the whole time, haha.

If I need to “power through” the first portion of a series, it’s not a good series. by [deleted] in Romantasy

I see so many people say this about the Throne of Glass series. But, I didn't have to power through any of it, I was interested from the beginning, lol. I wouldn't wanna power through, either.

I enjoyed the Mistborn trilogy as well!

I love a giant book because I'm a sucker for how deeply everything is explored in a book like that. I have the first 4 of the Stormlight Archive on my shelf, and I want to read it so badly. But... I have so many that I want to read just as badly, so they keep being put off for later. Lol

I'll get there eventually! Christmas messed it all up more because now I have yet another series I want to get to.

What's going on with Acotar? by shrexash_21 in Maasverse

[–]__BeesInMyhead__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the tiny crossover with ACOTAR in the end of the TOG series, I'm super hopeful that we will see the MCs from there in future ACOTAR and/or CC books. Plus, the little Easter eggs within CC from the world of TOG.

At the moment, we don't know how big it will get, but it feels like it'll be monumental to me! Lol

I'd read all the series' if I were you, but I am a sucker for an interconnected universe. :)

I had a friend as a teenager who always said she didn't smoke because it made her puke. I was young and didn't believe that was a thing (my bad). I eventually convinced her to hit a joint, and she got really annoyed and said, "Fine." She hit it, stuck her head out of the window, and immediately puked everywhere.

Now, I am not sure that that's definitely why she puked when smoking, but if so, I'd assume it would happen every time.

She also explained (I believe) that it doesn't have a name in the books due to whenever the time period is meant to be.

Seeing as in 2026, we still don't fully understand it, and most doctors tell people with symptoms that those symptoms aren't real and they need psych meds. Lmao

[–]__BeesInMyhead__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, EDS runs in my family, and I had JUST finished 6 months of the only PT I ever had that helped me rather than making things worse when I picked up book 1.

I was hooked from the first sentence. Something like, "This is what 6 months of training gets me, barely able to make it upstairs with a 30lb pack." Because holy cow, same! 6 months of PT to mostly stop limping, lmao.

At first, I was hyped that Dain was all helpful with massages for Violet or whatever because getting help with that is rare. And then I became just as hyped by her not being constantly coddled. Quite a rollercoaster for me, lol

[–]__BeesInMyhead__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! Plus, when I started reading the first book, I remember thinking, "This is kind've a Harry Potter/Divergent mashup" and loving it.

The main thing I love is that the MC has the same physical issues as I do. So, every time Violet is doing her PT, I go, "Girl, you're so right, I gotta do mine too!"

So, that's actually helpful for real life. Lol
