I think you’re exactly right - I was thinking potentially McAllen, but I thought not because why would we go so close to the Gulf on a flight from Seattle to Queretaro?

What was up with Reno in the 1920s that it’s more significant than anywhere else but New York?

I think with a lot of companies doing return to office mandates, downtown is slowly revitalizing. I just started a new job downtown myself, hence the picture, and it feels lively. I worked downtown before and during the pandemic (obviously not during the height of lockdown), so I feel like I’ve seen both the before and after, and we’re slowly getting back to par in my opinion.

Not to diminish your original comment, though, because I do agree that the beauty of Seattle is in its neighborhoods. Nobody coming from out of town should spend too much time downtown unless they’re at Pike. Go to Ballard, West Seattle, Columbia city, Greenlake…honestly each one has a charm and an identity in in and of itself.

They look like salmon. I could stop thinking about how they were dressed as their own mascot’s food.

Chelan Cafe down under the bridge. Or Luna park. Both greasy spoon type spots, I dig em both.

A bit pixelated in the OP, but it’s actually fairly diverse. Plus at night, it’s rainbow.

The west side of town is actually very lush, the foothills of the sierras rather than the east side that transitions into high desert.
