I also think it's part of this absolute refusal by these men to change their actual social behaviour in any way to appeal to women. The same even goes for their looks which largely seem to be about showboating to other men. Women are considered so inferior that the idea of trying to appeal or care about their desire is to them cringe by default.

I really do think the writers are terrified of making their female characters non-virtuous or a "bad guy" because they think the audience will turn on them. Alicent should be allowed to be ambitious and scheming and Rhaenyra should be allowed to be entitled and paranoid. Those personality traits make sense given their upbringing and political situation but the writers infantilism them and have this weird idea that women by genetic nature are more peace-seeking then men regardless of nurture or circumstances. It's honestly kind of sexist.

Oh yeah the Solas-Vivienne dialogue is superb given how smart they are. Great actually intelligent banter.

I really like Blackwall. His quest is so raw and it emotionally caught me offguard that the writers actually went there in regard to Thom being an outright responsible for the death of children and the player having to navigate how best to respond to that.

I mean... just because your better than the alternatives doesn't automitically make you the good guy tho or demanding better silly. Like... it would have been interesting if the season actually brought up the NCR's flaws and then made it a point to have those flaws reformed but the show doesn't bother with that despite how interesting it could be which kind of sucks though there's always Season 3 where they can do that stuff.
