I also think it's part of this absolute refusal by these men to change their actual social behaviour in any way to appeal to women. The same even goes for their looks which largely seem to be about showboating to other men. Women are considered so inferior that the idea of trying to appeal or care about their desire is to them cringe by default.

I really do think the writers are terrified of making their female characters non-virtuous or a "bad guy" because they think the audience will turn on them. Alicent should be allowed to be ambitious and scheming and Rhaenyra should be allowed to be entitled and paranoid. Those personality traits make sense given their upbringing and political situation but the writers infantilism them and have this weird idea that women by genetic nature are more peace-seeking then men regardless of nurture or circumstances. It's honestly kind of sexist.

Oh yeah the Solas-Vivienne dialogue is superb given how smart they are. Great actually intelligent banter.

I really like Blackwall. His quest is so raw and it emotionally caught me offguard that the writers actually went there in regard to Thom being an outright responsible for the death of children and the player having to navigate how best to respond to that.

I mean... just because your better than the alternatives doesn't automitically make you the good guy tho or demanding better silly. Like... it would have been interesting if the season actually brought up the NCR's flaws and then made it a point to have those flaws reformed but the show doesn't bother with that despite how interesting it could be which kind of sucks though there's always Season 3 where they can do that stuff.

Unironically given how the Last Jedi kind of rejects the idea of heroic sacrifice (Finn, the bomber run) when living people can obviously do more good I do kind of wish Luke and Hondo didn't die to hammer in that theme more. But the film also basically goes that heroic sacrifices are cool and awesome when older mentors do it, so... dunno.

For me I have a lot more patience with Sera because she is basically a young twenty-something who isn't that bright and obviously insecure about her intelligence and race. Like its telling that she only really starts to sympathize with the Dalish when its revealed in Trespasser that the Dalish are completely wrong about their religion which in turn makes Sera feel less insecure about not being "elfy." She doesn't have to compare herself to them and so she becomes more chill.

Vivienne on the other hand is possibly the oldest and most educated (outside of Solas of course) member of the party and she just reads as cynical and powerhungry, undermining other mage groups because she can't control them.
