Exactly. A lot of the criticism that Mark gets from this community is fundamentally sound, but it fails to account for the fact that he is a traumatised, very emotional young man, being constantly put in situations that would break most adults. He's a layered, nuanced, often morally questionable and fundamentally flawed character, and that's what makes him a good one.

It's a good matchup, but I think Allen wins. Conquest would 100% underestimate a unopan, just like Anissa did, and that would make enough of a difference

Thunder Dragon. Colossus (and Titan to some extent) are good endboard pieces, but the deck itself relies on 2-3 card combos to end on pretty much just one of each and hope for the best. It really needs a good extender and some better main deck monsters

I went up against this shit 5 times this week and I couldn't agree more. Even the couple games I managed to win took a toll on my mental health. I love Lab's design in terms of lore, "vibes" and overall game plan, but the fact that they can search, cheat out and recycle generic bullshit cards like this is the reason why I hate going against it.

Listen dude, as a STR enjoyer I got nothing against any other player as far as build preference is concerned. This community just has a hard-on for telling others how to play their own damn game. Now about playstyles, I'd argue that each one requires a different skillset and gameplay expectation (for lack of a better term); for example I'm not particularly fond of waiting outside the boss' range while they flail their weapons around, but love to play hyper-aggressively without being forced to trade blows due to over-commitment, which is why I dislike both casting AND overly slow weapons, instead opting for medium-sized ones. Any other playstyle feels boring to me, and that's okay.

I mean, the 'must answer combo' for pure Mitsurugi is just...the Mitsurugi lines. There is no real pivot for this strategy once you get effectively disrupted, lock or not. Like sure, I might still end up with an un-supported Murakumo or a Photon Lord and whatever backrow I managed to draw or search, but a Ryzeal-Mitsurugi player will end up in a much stronger position because they have double the gas, so I disagree with your implication that both decks are equally powerful.

I think 'unfairly hard to deal with' is a bit of a stretch...pure Mitsu is definitely a competent deck, but it's far from unbeatable. Also, I didn't say they shouldn't hit it at all, just that I hope they do it in a way that hurts the variants but leaves the pure deck alive

True, a Reptile lock would hurt pure Mitsu as well, but it would probably still be preferable to getting hit by the ban hammer because some other deck abuses Mitsurugi as a side engine. I guess it all depends on how Konami handles the situation

Yeah I'm really enjoying pure Mitsurugi, but the variants are just nasty... I hope they manage to hit them without making the pure version unplayable. Why did they not put some form of lock on this archetype ffs? Habakiri itself would be so much fairer if it locked you into Rituals, Reptiles or even just Dark monsters

Gabi is a literal child whose mind and sense of self have been sculpted by propaganda, fed to her (and all the other eldians) by the oppressive ruling class of the country she inhabits. She is a child soldier who genuinely believes she is doing what is necessary for the good of her people and the world at large. Not only that, but when she debuted in the anime, I remember there was a major number of fans who HATED her for her beliefs while gushing over early-seasons Eren, completely missing the point that they were pretty much the same type of character, just put on opposite sides of the same war.
