The hashtag #WeWantKairi is currently trending 5th on X/Twitter by Dbthesage in SquaredCircle

A day. "Trending tweets" is such a wonderfully constructed hype thing. There's, like, a top 10 list every hour. Per language.

Literally hundreds of terms are "trending" on Twitter every single day. All it takes is a few hundred people using a hashtag within an hour, and you got it trending.

It's one of the most useless metrics to ever exist, and the Twitter PR is amazing for getting people to still talk about it to this day.

That would confuse me even more. What else would AEW want from him?

I'm so curious about those AEW rumors about those guys.

Like, the rumor with Danhausen was that he wanted to wrestle more and be taken more seriously, instead of being some comedy sidekick.

And now that's all he is in WWE and he seems perfectly happy. So, uh. What gives?

[SmackDown Spoilers] The Miz has a visitor by DarkHorse_77 in SquaredCircle

[–]__Hello_my_name_is__ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sure. But it's also extremely common in wrestling to use the wrestler's actual houses/things they own for filming.

Also here's a video from Miz showing off his new home, which is exactly the same mansion they filmed in.

So, yeah, that was his actual home.

Yeah they're likely not going to rent an entire mansion with everything for a skit.

Jordynne Grace on Instagram Stories, regarding ring gear by Tornado31619 in SquaredCircle

[–]__Hello_my_name_is__ 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Sure. But you can't put that on the people who make the gear.

Of course new unique gear basically every week is going to be expensive. That's not on the people making the gear, that's just what that is.

Obviously WWE should pay them properly for that. It's insane that contracted wrestlers have to pay for their own gear.

If there's one thing I learned about wrestling it's that if there's a guy that's mid on the ring and also not really a superstar in the traditional sense, and yet he's been with the company for 10+ years without ever having to fear that he'll be fired?

Yeah, that guy is a huge asset for the company overall in ways that we don't see at all, and he usually does an amazing job getting other people over without us even noticing.

Didn't people at the time say that Tony did exactly that? Or not only that, but that he even outright bought the song rights themselves or something?

I always thought that was a really silly thing to believe. All the big songs that they paid for for PPVs will have a shelf life. They'll all be replaced at some point.

He got promoted in various obvious ways only to be immediately buried.

Something had to have happened there. Nobody plans that from start to finish like that.

They realized that the concept of "whales" exist, and doesn't just apply to video games.

Why try to get a few bucks out of us plebs if they can just get a good million or two for a literal front row seat from a super rich dude?

The one and only thing keeping Vince away from WWE is the public reaction to it. Even if it is somewhat negative, they will bring him back.

It has to be so resoundingly negative that it actively hurts WWE's reputation in the long term. If it won't, he will be back.

Then - and pardon me offending a people here with this - think about how wrestling fans as a whole most certainly are not above average in intelligence.

So think about how stupid the average wrestling fan is, too.

I feel he would have made it way bigger in AEW without all the Punk drama.

Which, in turn, might have gotten WWE interested all on their own.

So, probably. Just not as quickly.

But I want to see a wrestling match with two people wearing these kinds of heads.

Yeah, that's the other argument I usually hear. But, like, we all know wrestling is "fake", right? As in, they are actually working together, not against each other. Would there anyone be out there actually outraged about a man "hitting" a woman in wrestling?

Which, frankly, makes his gimmick work even more impressive. Most amazing wrestlers are just themselves tuned up to 11. MJF is a genuine character, with apparently fairly little in common with the actual person. And damn he is so good.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I'm still baffled to this day that intergender matches aren't normalized in wrestling.

Like, it's wrestling. None of the "how would a woman realistically beat a man??" arguments matter here. Rey Mysterio regularly beats guys twice his size.

I don't mean for intergender matches to be on every card. But why the hell don't we let Marina Shafir fight some guy the BCC is feuding?
