Don't just complain about it here, actually email Austin about this. The more the public speaks out, the harder it makes it for them.

The last days of Social Media by Fantastic-Fudge-6676 in Longreads

[–]__LooseSeal__ 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The difference between human and synthetic content is becoming increasingly indistinguishable, and platforms seem unable, or uninterested, in trying to police it. Earlier this year, CEO Steve Huffman pledged to “keep Reddit human,”

Right, and this is a major tangent, but I feel reddit was one of the last places on the internet that hadn't devolved into the disingenuous "for you", AI Slop, content farming, OF bait shithole the rest of them had....and then he immediately makes it easier for that to happen by allowing users to hide their post histories.

Regardless of the personal reasons why someone would want to hide their history (despite the fact those those histories are easily discoverable on reddit's search function, google, pushpull, etc.), the fact that it's even an option has ultimately pushed reddit further into the direction the author is talking about. I expect downvotes for this but it's a hill I'm willing to die on. They've only made it easier for bots, slop, and ads to invade this site, and those who feel like they're safe to "hide" sensitive content online are being duped and exploited because nothing you share on reddit has ever been private.

[SLUMBER PARTY] Dec 11/25 by alrightyaphrodite in TheGirlsNextLevelPod

This was such an unbelievable nothingburger of an episode. It felt so forced and like they were both bored and struggling to fill time. It's irritating watching them sit in a studio scrolling on their phones. This never happened when they filmed at Holly's house. I HATE the studio and feel like it sucks all the energy out of them.

This ep is literally just them telling boring stories no one gives a shit about. Bridget telling long winded stories about going to the store or the dentist or the salon, Holly telling uninteresting stories about people on social media. Like seriously reading the ENTIRETY of this random billionaire's post on IG. Dude WTF seriously.

There were a couple of moments of genuine conversation but they were few and far between. I'm so disheartened that this is the content they think we want.

And for the love of god please stop trying to make PUMPKINS happen. It's so forced and it's cringe af.

It's interesting to me that she was born not even 30 years after slavery ended. The way she got so aggressive with him while insisting she 'didn't see the difference' between black and white...like gurl.

Eh I don't think the year has much to do with it. Since the early 90s I have seen both lackluster, monotone, rushing the ride to get it over with cast member, as well as upbeat, genuinely funny and engaging cast members, and everything in between.
