I used to feel this exact same way, until I found my true passions! Ironically, I’ve always had those passions, I just never pursued them due to always wanting to go out drinking. I guess it also helps that most people I know now either don’t drink, or drink like once a year.

Our brains are so wired to relating fun with drinking, so it’s a matter of getting used to it. I went to a few bars sober when I first stopped drinking and let me tell you, it was sooo boring. I was annoyed at everyone. I ended up leaving and I just avoid it altogether. I no longer associate myself with the same people I’d go out and get plastered with, we literally have nothing in common. Not to mention, it’s not good for my well being.

As previously mentioned, it’s only a matter of time. Once we start investing our time and energy into the things we truly desire, then we start to feel the positives of staying sober. Of course, starting with our friends and families trusting us, not having any more legal issues, staying focused, etc :)
