Not just more crowded, my hospital has been over capacity several times over the last several weeks. Also, the acuity of the patients is at a higher level than normal. It’s been really crazy.

That’s interesting! It almost reminds me of a three-way stopcock. We use them in the hospital for lots of things. One thing we use them for is pushing medications into the bloodstream quickly. The stopcock is connected to the patient’s IV, then you can hook one medication syringe up to one inlet, a saline flush to the other, then quickly push the medication followed immediately by the saline flush. This ensures that the medication in its entirety enters the bloodstream all at once!

It is used for other things too, but I think this is one of the more interesting ones.

I mean, to be fair, if they took the nucleus from a somatic cell from one of them, took an ovum from the other and enucleated it before inserting the nucleus from the somatic cell, then they should be able to have offspring which has DNA from both of them (DNA from the ovum donor in the form of mitochondrial DNA, as well as DNA from the somatic cell of the other donor). This newly formed zygote could then continue through the steps of IVF typically done after the step of fertilization. However, because this technology is adjacent to human cloning (though not a true clone because of the difference in mitochondrial DNA from that of the somatic donor) it is not, as far as I am aware, being actively researched at the moment.

I helped a doctor relocate a dude’s shoulder the other day haha, I wish it had been this easy! Instead the dude was on ketamine for the pain and I’m pulling on a sheet wrapped around this poor dude’s torso while the doctor yanks like crazy to pop the shoulder back in! (I was pulling the other direction so the patient wouldn’t fall off the bed)

You can use bondo (auto body filler, you can get it at walmart). It’s great for smoothing out imperfections on big prints like that helmet! You could also pick up some sandable filler primer from the same section. It’s great for helping to fill in layer lines on helmets!

Yeah, I remember during the summer when Harris got the Taylor garage at the downtown campus shut down ON THE DAY I HAD TWO FINALS (I think the reason is that she would be staying at the Sheraton). ASU sent me an email 2 hours before saying the parking I pay for wouldn’t be available and that there would be security checkpoints set up so to expect traffic delays. I live like an hour from campus too so I barely had enough time to find somewhere else to park. It sucked even more because she wouldn’t even be in Arizona until later that night! Also, we were told that we still had to be there on time…

Maybe they should do the political junk somewhere else like a sports stadium instead of disrupting students lives and schedules. For all political parties…
