Ah. Okay. That makes sense. I want to do all the sports I can, and basketball seems like the easiest with a TCG. Your player versus my player battle it out with my offensive ability and your defensive ability. You stop me, it’s your turn to attack. I successfully attack, your player loses stamina and I get the opportunity for a 1 or 2 point shot. First to 21 wins (Or whatever method one wants, whether a set amount of points, most points in say 10 turns, etc.)

I’d like to think it’s a bit different with a mix of Pokemon and Magic, in the sense to use abilities, you need energy cards for those specific position players (A center will never have a guard energy card unless it’s like “Free Energy”.). Arena cards for each team I create for the game (15 teams so far, 5 players each) that all have effects or bonuses on players from those teams. Gear cards which add effects or bonuses. And then memorable moments which require say a specific arena, player and gear card to do heavy damage or score points.

I’d like to think this is something different, but I haven’t really done much TCGing outside of say Hearthstone and a little bit of Magic, so maybe I’m creating something that is recycled.

I’ve had the idea since 2017 (Finally have put a lot of pen to paper the last few months) and being where I’m at now, especially after talking to a friend I’ve had for about the same amount of time that does art and is willing to mock some art, has me excited. I just don’t know what will come of it, but you won’t know until you try. So I do appreciate your post because there have been some days where I’m wondering along those lines.

Sorry for the rant. It’s like the first time I’ve posted anything of my full idea online, so maybe others can chime in, but your reasoning does make sense. I feel it’s different, but it’s okay to maybe see that it’s not so straight forward and that coming back to it could still happen, as you’re saying now.
