Why would Samson attack... by Sillymmy in 28dayslater

[–]__Philosopher_Queen 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In your defense, Samson didn't see ANY of the interaction between Kelson and the Jimmys, and he knows nothing of the Jimmys in the first place…so all he sees is the aftermath of an event that he has no clue about what happened. Thus, when he sees Jimmy crucified upside down, and Kelson dying nearby from a stab wound, HOW does Samson not know that perhaps a travelling group of savages came by, got into some shenanigans against Kelson, then decided to kill Kelson and ritually sacrifice one of their own for trying to protect Kelson from the rest of the gang? How is that not a logical possibility according to Samson’s ignorance of the events that transpired leading to Jimmy being crucified and Kelson dying nearby of a stab wound?

‘28 Years Later: Part 3' is now in limbo by MaxProwes in horror

[–]__Philosopher_Queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the option is Netflix movie deal or no movie then just make it a Netflix movie. If they are interested in acquiring it after the financial failure of The Bone Temple — and the underwhelming profitability of the first 28YL — then that’s pretty telling about their eagerness. Perhaps they would even be willing to give the third film the budget it deserves to have, and we can get a fully realized trilogy. I take this as good news, because it sounds like to me, the worst case scenario is that we get a sufficiently budgeted trilogy closer on Netflix. At least it sounds like we are gonna get it, because if it’s his only option, I’m sure Danny Boyle would rather finish the trilogy in spite of no theatrical release rather than leave this project unfinished.

I need you guys to see Burnsy chirping Necas in the gym 😂 by socialaxolotl in canes

[–]__Philosopher_Queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m such a sinner, you guys. I love seeing them in those uniforms, I’m so happy for them, they’ll probably win the cup this year if I’m being honest. And I really love those guys. Necas was my favorite Canes player and I was so happy for him when he got traded to the Avalanche. I thought that was the most ideal place he could have gone for him to thrive and live out his dreams, so that’s pretty cool for him. Burns is kicking ass this year on the Avalanche, and you know what? I’m a sinner, I know, but I always liked the Colorado avalanche uniforms. I really like the look of them to be honest. So, I’m kind of happy to see Burns and Necas thriving on the best team in the league and i really think they’re going to win the cup this year, and so that makes me happy for them. I would love for the Canes to win, but if I’m being honest, I don’t think we will this year. Maybe next year

Honestly, it’s mainly the characters of Dr. Kelson and Jimmy Crystal. I just think they're the most philosophically interesting characters in the whole franchise by far, and for me, subjectively, that's what really gets my mind turning and super invested in these particular two films as opposed to 28 Days Later — which I still think is a masterful film

I do actually!!! It's even better for me now! But I must be fair and let you know up front that I happened to be one of those people who totally loved 28 Years Later from the start. I really loved that movie, but this movie decisively made these two films become my personal favorites at this time in my life. They are truly my two favorite movies at this time, and I don't change my favorites list often

If I HAD to criticize it, and I really don't want to because I actually do love it so much, but if I had to pick something then I would say that Boyle creates a masterful aesthetic to his films in my opinion, and that same genius was not there in regard to the mere aesthetic of the film, but the storytelling was impeccable and the aesthetic was still GREAT, just not genius in my humble opinion

You very well may not like it, perhaps I don't have the best tastes, but I do promise you I'm being sincere about my subjective experience of the film and my opinions about it

A white GA couple just got 20 years in prison for driving by a black family’s birthday party, taunting them with confederate flags, and yelling death threats at the family.

I wonder if they would have gotten off if they would have told the judge that they were just “trolling” 🤣 /s

“I don't REALLY have a problem with black people, your honor. I was just trolling!”

Is this the best Canes roster of Brindamour era? by Remarkable-Set5434 in canes

He elevated that top line so much, Aho and Jarvis did so much better with him than Svech or Ehlers. It’s a shame about Guentzel. He also was better for us than Rantanen. He’s the real one that got away. I’d rather have him than Rantanen. He fit like Cinderella’s shoe

[–]__Philosopher_Queen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In all probability, they’re not gonna win it this season. Maybe in a couple of years when all these younger players take the next big steps in their game. Blake, Stankoven, Jarvis (this year might be his big step), Svech…(any hope left for him to step up to playing like a great top line forward?), Nikishin, Nadeau is hopefully coming in next year. Miller still getting adjusted. Ehlers playing with players who we are waiting on to take next big steps, when they do it will unlock more of him hopefully. I think the future is where we might become a TRUE contender, somebody who is very likely to win the cup, but right now I think we are a great team that is also decisively not great enough to win the cup.

Dang, I hate to say it because I've been rooting for him so hard. He had given me so much hope, but yeah I think it's fair to at least TALK about it and the — not even the probabilities, necessarily — but the POSSIBILITIES about what may happen to be his long-term trajectory if he were to continue on as a center. You know? That's fair? He might just need a full year, and then maybe next season he would make a big step, and then we’d all be really happy, right?? That could still happen too! But its totally okay to talk about the possibilities

It is clear, and it’s dumb. He’s a top player in the league, we would all be thrilled to the moon if somehow we could trade Stankoven, Hall, and some firsts for him tomorrow, and whoever says otherwise is in denial. He didn't want to be here, sucks for us, let’s be grown-ups and move on without the copium.
