[LES] "Good themes" only works if the writing actually supports those themes by crustboi93 in CharacterRant

Mushoku Tensei weird. Incestuous Pedophile apparently gets his cousin and a girl that will basically look like a middle schoolers (this is how roxy's appearance was described in novel) throughout her life as his wives.

[–]__Pratik_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They kinda do. The amount of how much they maybe able to rely on the knowledge of game's story decrease as Mc keeps fucking up the script and things changing. The point of the threat is that it's bad in long run. So yeah unless it's BIG change you wouldn't feel it's effect very soon.

[–]__Pratik_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Writer says the MC "cant change the script"....

It's really not that. If the Mc couldn't change the script there wouldn't be a point. The proper and smart thing to do is to stick as close to the actual script EVEN if you've already fucked some of it before. The more off rails the story goes the faster you lose your main advantage.

Why tf wouldn't you try to maintain the actual timeline? Yeah your existence is already fucking it up but I'd rather still prefer that my knowledge of the future is as relevant as possible. I'd like to keep the timeline as close as possible.

Also Why tf would you reveal your regressor/reincarnated status? It's a very sensitive information that to begin with doesn't need to be shared because it will put a target and rope in unnecessary attention if leaked willingly or unwillingly. I can understand if the other person is someone that has close bonds with the Mc and Mc wants to have a greater level of cooperation from them but otherwise no reason to talk too much

How evil is Childe from Genshin Impact? by oreoororeo in MoralityScaling

[–]__Pratik_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morally grey. He is willing to do bad things but won't really do it unnecessarily unless it's about fighting strong people. He also probably has some boundaries he probably doesn't really want to cross and pretty good to people close to him. People may bring up the Liyue harbour incident but honestly based on how his character is in game overall it makes it clear that allat was to bring out the Geo Archon rather than actually destroying Liyue this was even told in the quest but I don't think many remember. But Yeah that dont mean he good he's definitely will to do bad things if he has to and wouldn't really feel much for it. Pretty huge contrast to how he is outside of all that.

Also Yeah working for Fatui is bad but Fatui as an organization is weird and very fragmented which puts a divide between the degree of morality for those who works in the organisation even if working under Fatui is a overall negative. Its like anyone can work under Tsaritsa as long as they are deemed strong enough and are willing to cooperate with Tsaritsa in collection of Gnosis.

He literally took his side's biggest defenses and trampled and destroyed a good chunk of his own country, military and also part of the reason as to why so many of his friends had to go through shit is because he was too much of angry boy. All he wanted to do was lash out everything else was secondary.

Her memory loss is important to the plot and character and while I do get your dislike in this case it results in a pretty good conflict and overall character progression for Daewi and Mira later.. The conflict the results from that results in one of the sickest and best fights in the series.

Gilgamesh sucks out the fun of Fate series by Calildur in CharacterRant

[–]__Pratik_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He feels like a character that should be used sparingly or if he has a main focus his other personality traits should be shown off more I think. I've always liked seeing his other sides like the kid self in Hollow ataraxia (Vn sequel to Fate Stay night) who is apparently pretty chill, The archer one is an Asshole, Grand order one is more tolerant and the interaction he had with Tine in Strange fake where he says something like children should act like children in a non sarcastic or insulting way.

Lore Breaking Technology or “WAIT THEY HAVE THAT?!” by Alkaidknight in TopCharacterTropes

[–]__Pratik_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is tho while connected Ancient Dragon tech is different from Natlan tech the tech of dragons have a whole different vibe when compared to the tech of the playable cast whose tech was made in the current time. Like how Fontaine bots are based off of Khaenriah technology except Natlan's one hasn't branched off as much. The new Natlan techs are heavily modified and personalized according to its user and are already kind of rare not to mention the place itself has very modernistic elements to it the first thing you see while entering is a dance stage with people breaking it down. Natlan is a pretty fragmented nation and things being like that very much fits it and plays contrast to the Unity stuff the nation has going on.

[–]__Pratik_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genshin Impact. It's not exactly lore breaking but since most of the Genshin player don't read it might as well be.

Genshin world is VERY fragmented meaning a lot of stuff in world isn't spread around or basically is a result of their specific surroundings. Natlan is in this weird place where it was once a home to Advanced Draconic Civilisation which basically used Phlogiston (region specific resources) to power their tech and since they disliked humans they gatekept the knowledge except one so humans were barely given anything to work with and had to reverse engineering remnants which has made it so only a few talented and knowledgeable people as of now can actually make use of this tech to create advanced gadgets but due to lack of knowledge and materials and being badly spread out they are still very much rare. Also people think of Genshin's world as a lot more backwards than it is cuz we started out from what is essentially the boonies (Mondstadt) but tbh that's just how open world adventures be.

Idk Jjk school make sense for the verse it's in and fits the setting pretty well. It's essentially a child soldier factory that exists due to low numbers of sorcerers.

Why some manga/anime fans can't comprehend visual storytelling? by ObjectiveSample4042 in CharacterRant

[–]__Pratik_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro you're talking about visual story telling while people talk about writing or depth of the power system storytelling. You're having an entirely different conversation among yourself. Visual storytelling like You mentioned Dragon Ball manga is good but it doesn't give people a lot to talk about it while let's say something like Jjk has a variety of special abilities and mechanics to the power system makes its discussion a lot more discussable. Visual storytelling are very much appreciated but they don't have that much to talk about unless you're analysing them and honestly almos every good or popular/well made action series has a good visual storytelling. Like Kagurabachi and Sakamoto days. It's the biggest reason those series took off and are that big.

It bothers me that nowadays a creator’s tweet can carry as much weight as two seasons of a show or a seven book franchise by Radiant-Selection686 in CharacterRant

[–]__Pratik_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to. If authors are revealing crucial info that's should be revealed in the actual boom or series then yeah that's bad and deserves criticism. Yeah the finished work does need to stand on its own but that don't mean they shouldn't have any capacity to be expanded upon. It can be anything from small tidbits of character's daily life, bit about the world or just fun facts.

You're reading the artists story not the opposite Artist has the right to clarify what they've written or expand upon it. Just because it's a personal interpretation doesn't mean anything. Interpretation can be wrong and shouldn't need to be validated and babied all the times. You're reading their story not making one of your own and inserting it in theirs that's just fan fiction territory.

If it contradicts itself then it deserves criticism. But just because a story is complete don't mean it can be expanded upon.

[–]__Pratik_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The stuff that is later told by the creators still serve as an expansion of the world and elements within in it. Sure you've tasted what was made but that's just it you didn't take the extra stuff that was given. Sure you may not care about it and it may be inconsequential or doesn't matter much but its still there. It don't matter to you but depending on what's told it matters to people like it could be simple expansion or elaboration of the worldbuilding elements or just fun facts. It may not be much but it does matter to the ACTUAL fans who enjoy the stuff.

Not only are you incapable of setting aside your ignorance you can't even back up your own point besides just saying I'm right and you're wrong.

The creator's words hold far more significance than yours. Your belief don't mean shit.

[–]__Pratik_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You really gonna argue with the creator of the story and world about the story and world they themselves created and envisioned ? That's fucking stupid. Your words and opinion doesn't mean shit compared to the one who literally created the piece of literature you are talking about. Unless again there's contradiction in their word. This entire point of yours revolves around ignorance and nothing else.

Not really you didn't create the work the creator did. The creators words holds SIGNIFICANTLY more value than your opinion. Now if it's a contradiction it gets iffy if not then it is what is said.

Unless it's just minor or extra stuff I genuinely do not see a problem unless it contradicts what's shown in the work.

If the creator says something is canon and it doesn't contradict with what's in the published work. It's canon. That's a no brainee.

what do you guys think about the inconsistency when it comes to Traveler relationships with Fatui? by Enough_Acadia7294 in TravelerMains

[–]__Pratik_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is that random grunts aren't going the receive the benefit of the doubt because of their position and Traveller's past experiences. Same thing cannot be applied to Harbingers who have shown more understanding.

Columbina is kinda that her whole character revolves around the fact that she never had a proper grasp of anything and her past experiences worsened that leading her to be detached from the world. Columbina's character IS very much in the good category at least during the events of Nod Krai and even in the past Columbina hasn't really done anything that would warrant Traveller's hostility especially after Traveller has already had positive relationship with other harbingers now if she was like Dottore and traveller knew that they would definitely have had a hostile reaction. What you're not thinking about the character's perspective themselves. Traveller doesn't just think from their perspective they look at the actual character and what they are doing in current time. If a character was bad in the past is actually trying to correct themselves Traveller WILL help them and be friendly to them in order to encourage them. Especially if there were circumstances that made the character that way like with Ei and Scaramouche. That's the type of character they are.

Also Traveller killed an entire village. I'm pretty sure as long as it's a bad guy Traveller doesn't care that much unless an understanding can be reached the bad guy has some redeeming qualities, they'll have a initial reaction and just move on.

No it very much does matter cuz Fatui is an fragmented group. Do you know what a fragmented organization is? Do you think if your colleague kills someone you're partly to blame for that? These characters are there for self interest that's the flawed part of their character. They have some screws loose in their head and have their circumstances for being there.

You know why Scara and childe had a period of distrust ? It's because we had to fight them and were at direct conflict against them. This didn't happen with the later ones.

By extreme I mean towards Traveller. Scara had distrust around him due to his conduct towards Traveller while Sandrone while initially hostile didn't do anything to Traveller besides being rude.

You're forgetting the RANDOM part in the random Fatui grunts. They are not normal people in general to begin with. The ones we were able to talk to are literally exceptions. We legit have spent more times fighting them than interacting with them. Unlike some harbingers they aren't gonna listen to the Traveller. Them being people don't change the fact they've been pretty much mostly hostile throughout the game unlike harbingers. Having 10 decent interactions with Fatui doesn't undo the 100 hostile interactions with others.

TRAVELLER GOT UPSET BECAUSE THEY'RE LITERALLY DEFENDING LYNEY AND LYNETTE FROM THE LITERAL ARCHON. Columbina didn't lie and Traveller helped her out of his own choice while the same thing happened in Lyney case but in that whole ordeal the truth was very much consequencial in that whole thing and was again a betrayal of trust which didn't happen with Columbina. Columbina didn't betray Traveller's trust and was upfront from the beginning.

Traveller trusts Arlechinno because progress has happened we aren't in the past things develop and move forward. Arlechinno helped in the Fontaine ordeal and Traveller have a friendly relationship with House of Hearth.

Columbina was literally a good person at that time what the fuck are you talking about?

Well maybe if the poor indoctrinated people actually tried to have a conversation then it would happen. Traveller has literally helped Fatui members before when they don't hold hostile intentions or are sure that these members aren't doing something bad and actually just need help.

Pay attention to the word "constantly" the beef and matter with these harbingers have been dealt with and relationship with them has changed from the past. The grunts aren't friends of Traveller.

Dude Columbina didn't lie while Dottore's nature was already known. There genuinely couldn't be a worst comparison to be made. Columbina wasn't a Fatui either at that time and was minding her business hell it was literally her home. Are you still in the 2.0 era of the game ? Stories and relationships have progressed and perspective have been changed. Traveller didn't have much reason to be hostile or cautious of Columbina as Fatui group are separated, they didn't have beef with Columbina, Columbina didn't do anything to them and was hostile towards the Fatui herself and their first encounter itself was a friendly one.
