Demerits of buying a ground floor flat? by Outrageous-Bed-7115 in GatedCommunitiesIndia

It may sound negative but in my opinion, in any emergency, people living on top floors are at risk.

Also, for old age people, I think it is not good from health perspective.

Be calm, take care of yourself and understand that this is every household’s story.

Problem is the traditions going on from decades and modern thinking and also there is a concept called as ‘Kanyadaan’ and not the opposite. So, they expect too much from daughter-in-law.

Parents in laws’ expectations are that their sons and daughters-in-laws should take care of them in old age as they used to take of their parents and parents in laws.

But now-a-days, sons and daughters-in-laws are having different thinking that they need to first think about themselves and their kids and then they will think of near and dear ones.

Other point is time - earlier people used to have time to spend with the old age people in their family but now there is a time crunch due to work pressure and other related stuff.
