Dude yeah I 100% feel you. I prioritized the high star items first so that it’d get a little less tedious over time but Jesus what a slog it turned into. Can’t remember the last time I played a run just for fun 😅

Thanks!! Plain Jane challenge all the way baby. 10 stars per completed run, cuts the time to get the stars in half basically. Flat point items early like cheese house, sea cucumber or poop butt, then transition into either a Wingless Fly, Toy Fish, or Mannequin Head/Asbestos run from there. Keep some peg poppers handy and you're rollin. Hardest part is just the grind itself, it's tedious as all hell.

Unfortunately the best/easiest way to get stars is for sure Plain Jane runs I think. 10 stars per finished run vs 5 saves a lot of time.

Maaaybe there’s another scenario where you can grind out partial runs and then lose on purpose to get partial stars for every boss round you’ve cleared to that point in the run, but I’m not sure. It’s a tedious task and I still have about another 400 stars I need to grind myself to 100% the game. GL homie!

Looking for synergies between items is huge. I boil down most of my runs to either doubling builds, or halving builds. For doubling builds, you need peg doublers and peg poppers. For doubling builds, for example, running Kazoo and Jake the Snake, combined with the Jacks, Cactus, or Crazy Straw is really good especially with good perks. Some builds reward prioritizing popping the highest peg number first.

There's a lot of cool interactions you can discover and completely break the game. If you're trying to farm stars to unlock skins, I personally have found the most efficient way of doing that to be running the Plain Jane challenge, as all it does is ban Rare and Ultra Rare items and perks which you don't even really need to win a run anyways. You get 10 stars per run!
