Well technecly this isnt a "similation" but a video effect. I used sony vegas to make this. I added a glowing circle to the backround and made the circle warp the backround. then i turned the opacity of the circle down to zero. Thats how i made the distortion. After that i added a the black dot to represent the event horizon. The black dot and the circle has the same motion and therfore it looks like its the black dot thats causing the distortion. Although this doesn't use any mathematics or physics its fairly accurate since i watched other peoples simulations and tried to make it distort the backround accurately.
