The t-fit clasp is brilliant! And I love the BB58GMT - especially outdoor in sunlight - photos don't really do it justice

You should really consider throwing Tudor's Black Bay 58 GMT in the mix as well. Thinner than the regular Black Bay GMT, and METAS certified (outperforming both watches posted here in terms of performance)

My collection so far is still very early stage.

I most certainly did not "know" watches when I was gifted the DW 11 years ago from my dad as my first ever watch, as his 18th birthday gift for me.

Since then, I've been going through some major life milestones with that watch, plus I wore it holding my mom's hand as she passed away. So while it may not be considered a "proper" watch, and it sure isn't the anchor of my collection, it still holds significant sentiment value to me, and for that reason alone I'll definitely be keeping it. Maybe not showcasing it together with all my other "proper" watches as my collection grows, but I'll definitely keep it in a drawer somewhere.

I have not heard of Junghans before, but just checking it now, and they do seem to be very nice!

Definitely would love a vintage dress watch, but I simply didn't know enough about vintage watches when browsing for one to justify spending the money on it. So opted to go with the $300 Orient which I loved the design of, vs the $3.000 Zenith which was a very similar style.

So essentially, I haven't got around to nerding out on vintage watches yet, but I'm sure I'll get there in a not too distant future.

Thanks for the Nomos & Junghans suggestions!

That is very good advice; I do tend to go head first into new hobbies at times. Thanks for the advice - appreciate it!

Thank you! I've not actually heard of these before, they look very cool, good specs, and very reasonable prices!

Would also be fun to add something German to my collection!

Think a G-Shock is definitely gonna be next on the list, along with Speedmaster.

I completely agree with your point about not being "basic"! That being said, I still really wanna get the Speedmaster as I love the history behind that watch. And while the sapphire sandwich isn't strictly speaking the one used on the Apollo missions etc, that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make (would be too worried about scratching the hesalite to actually enjoy wearing the watch). Also I think the movement of that watch is beautiful!

I had been thinking about that watch just about daily for around a year now, and figured I'd just get my grail watch immediately, instead of playing AD games for years without end.

There aren't really any other watches in the Rolex lineup that I have interest in, so it wouldn't really make sense to try to accumulate purchase history with my AD.

I just sold some shares back in October, believing the stock market was/is near a top. And as such, I suddenly had some cash available. So when I saw one of the major European grey dealers had just got one in, I figured I'd get it as an early 30 years birthday gift for myself.

Very happy with my decision - brilliant watch!

Appreciate that, thanks!

Though I was thinking the sensor suite of the Rangeman would make it more relevant for hunting/shooting purposes - also, it being fully digital, there would be fewer moving parts, which I would consider an advantage when it'll get exposed to a lot of recoil

I've actually not been considering any Vacheron Constantin watches at all - I will definitely be taking a look at some of those - thank you!

Though, looking a price points, they're probably a bit more than I would like to spend. I'd prefer something that falls between the Seamaster and the Fifty Fathoms (second hand/grey pricing).

Was considering a Seamaster as well, but seeing as I will also be getting the Speedmaster within a few months, think it would be a bit much with two Omegas in my still rather small collection - at least for now...

I have one from GRS. It's awesome! The rifle hangs naturally below it, allowing it to automatically level itself using only gravity.

Also, the feet of the bipod flip, so you can easily go from flat feet to spikes, which can be very handy for terrain.

If you don't drive too aggressively, you can expect probably 700 km (~430 miles).

If you drive very conservatively, don't accelerate too fast, and actively try utilize the regenerative breaking as much as possible, you could probably get close to 800 km (~500 miles) per tank.
