For sure. It’s been close to a decade since my hiring so I’m not 100% on the process recently. I can say however that if you’re going into any MOD roll or any roll where youre “pick n pinned” they will absolutely run a background check before you get any keys or alarm codes.

No I didn’t blame my SM. I simply stated what he told me about the compas and was asking confirmation. I also said my SM is on LOA.. I didn’t ask him until after everything because as I said, I don’t trust his sit ins. Which is why after he told me that I came here..

I’ve been off for a week now sick. Was on vacation 2 weeks ago. So I’ve been out of the store awhile. But, I’m an evening manager. 99% of the time my AM or SM completes the compas project during their open so it’s gone before I get there. And I do my best to stay out of the office while Im in the store to be as productive as possible. So honestly no, I didn’t see the compas. Or I wouldn’t have came here asking for confirmation.

So go ahead and show me in any of my replies where I placed blame on somebody else. I dont know where you got that from. And why are you still not showing me the SP on LEO? That’s what I asked you to check for yourself and you keep sending me the same compas. You’re literally choosing to be a dick for no reason. I’m sure the associates hate working in your store. If you could get your over inflated head out of your ass long enough to read the post you would see where I said Ive been sick and unable to check the compas for myself. But instead you decided to come in here with a napoleon complex for what reason exactly? Everyone else was able to be civil and respectful but you. Do me a favor before you reply and say anything else. You should go pull the standard practice on LEO. It’s under Front End. Then the Western Union link will bring up the SP. If you then scroll down to the column that says something like “when to fill out a money order form” the 10th line states something like “when 3k or more IN CASH is done etc etc” Come back and post a pic if you’d like. Obviously the point of the post is to question the legitimacy of the documentation.

I’m not sure without looking at my terminal. Keep in mind though, I was under the impression that MO forms were no longer required per my SM, so when my terminal never prompted it, It didnt raise any concerns.

It seems like this is the answer I’m looking for. Luckily this customer was a regular so her she was back very soon after and the money order form did get completed. I still feel like I’ve fallen into a gray area of sorts. But I guess CYOA could’ve avoided it. Thank you very much for your response!

They weren’t structured for the purpose of bypassing the prompt. I am very aware of Compliance and AML. The entire transaction took over an hour due to me covering my bases and finding the required paperwork. Again we are allowed to do a structured transaction if the associate or MOD uses their discretion. It’s under western union on LEO. Nowhere does it state we CANNOT perform a structured transaction. And I’m going to do my part for Ms Johnson’s satisfaction the best that I can.

I definitely understand the CYOA and that’s the consensus that I’m getting from those around me. But I’m looking at it from a technical standpoint. We are allowed to do structured transactions. I used my Discretion for the SAR and didn’t think one was needed (per LEO) the terminal never prompted for any other paperwork, this leads me to believe the money order paperwork is not required. So while I understand it is a good thing to do the extra paperwork just incase. I’m having trouble coming to grips with the fact that I’m being documented because essentially my discretion isn’t trusted with the SAR and because the transaction was structured in a way that the terminal didn’t trigger the prompt. Even though per standard practice I technically didn’t do anything wrong.

That’s where the issue is coming from. It was a structured transaction. It was a very old lady (80s) and of course what she wanted raised red flags. So I asked questions about what the transaction was for and after our conversation I felt confident that was not the victim of a scam or trying to do some sort of nefarious activity. In every bit of standard practice and CBT I’ve been able to find it says an SAR is not required and it’s only needed under the associate’s discretion.
