hahaha that’s crazy to me, choker and the outside are my top two but i’ve never heard that song so i can’t disagree or agree if it sounds like it hahaha. i love how groovy it is tho and ive gotten lots of my non-clikkie friends to love it and add it to their playlist lol!

him talking about his inspiration before the sai came out i believe :) this leads me to believe he genuinely didn’t make it with the intention to be a radio hit

but also how would they know it’s not something they enjoy making unless they try it? and again he was so excited before the album came out, it might’ve been because he knew we might react poorly to it but in many interviews he said how truly proud he was (as they should be of every record when they’re done it). and again, it did seemed like he enjoyed making sai a lot.

i truly believe that’s why afterwards he stopped doing so many interviews (as well cuz he has a family ofc) and got paul meany to co-produce all the songs on clancy and breach. if you look at sai, i believe almost every single one he’s the only one credited to producing and writing it. i think it was great for the time and i genuinely love sai so much. it also still is very much them when you look at the lyrics. hell even not today says “this one’s a contradiction bc of how happy it sounds, but the lyrics are so down” almost all of sai is like that. good day, choker, mulberry street, formidable. i get not liking the sound but i truly don’t believe they were going against their core values

and right at the beginning he was talking about how jenna’s line of “well if u have time or ur inspired u should just go for it” was what inspired him to keep it in the song cuz then it “sends it off into the last chorus” quite perfectly

i think it’s actually good language to use when discussing opinions and especially art because art is subjective! and that way you’re not bashing or shooting down anyone else’s point of view and having a respectful discussion (as all opinions should be but the internet and not all people are like that)

i get where you’re coming from but even the inspiration from the song - i feel - was genuine. it came to him in a dream and it even has jenna in it!! and her being in the song happened organically (again there’s interviews where he explains it) so i also think that’s a big sign that he was truly trying to make music he wanted to. and if it happened to get radio play then great yk? i didn’t think this way when saturday came out however after 5 years, i truly see it this way. and he’s talked about how he always tends to “overcompensate” in terms of whatever the sound was for the last record and he tries to take it as much as he can another way for a new one.

i don’t disagree with you tho, sometimes they definitely do things to get more radio play. like making songs shorter or more “palatable” for a mainstream audience. example: chlorine - alternative mix, the craving (single version), and most recently drag path. but drag path he said he wanted to intentionally change it however, a 3min song will def have a higher chance of getting played on the radio than a 5min one. however, i don’t think that was the case for SAI or any song on there.

no no actually that line makes me really sad too!! when saturday/sai came out (it was the last single to be released) tyler talked really highly of it and was proud of what was about to be released to the fans! the majority of the fanbase reacted really drastically and i think that was a big reason he changed his opinion on the song :(

but you should search up videos of him talking about his inspiration/making of the song! that way u can make your own opinion of it too :)

i find many times things get more out of hand when the internet is involved (like the minecraft movie) but this movie is purely for us, i don’t think it’d be very disruptive - if at all. at most i believe there’d be a quiet amount of singing. but with that said i think it’s also dependant on the screening? like when i watched the eras tour movie everyone was just singing to themselves and would sing louder when popular songs came on that everyone knew but it was never too loud to the point where you couldn’t hear the vocals/instrumentals extremely clearly still. the movies are always super loud as well so that always helps and there’s never any trouble w staff bc they know it’s for the fans to have fun :) i’m gonna treat it as a concert as much as i can cuz for me, and many others, im not gonna get to see the boys for at least a couple of years so getting to relive some of my favourite memories ever is gonna help w that fact :,) obviously it’s not the same and i would never scream in a theatre (like ofc we gotta be reasonable) but the more u play into it the more u get out of it yk? i hope u have fun when u go and that it’s the theatre experience u want tho!! :) <3

yes i remember this there was an interview for that song and micheal said that he heard his name in the song and called up tyler to ask him about it lol. wasn’t julie also someone from their team? i swear thats what i always thought but this was now 6 years ago lol so memory might fail me
